In the last day or so, the crew has been testing the hydraulics system that will make the ship sway like it is on water. They’ve got the ropes complete, if not very nearly so, and they’ve got a familiar-looking lantern at the top of the rear mast. On a closer inspection, it’s definitely not the same lantern, which is good, because that would likely have caused a controversy. But it is a great part of the ship that really makes it feel more Narnian than viking. Narnia Fans Spy Kylie sent us an update with these great photos, which you can see more of on her flickr account.

it’s a beauty! YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!
Love it! Love the lantern too.
I’m not sure if i like the lantern, but it looks as if they’ve weathered the back somewhat.
WOW!! Now the Dawn Treader is finsihed, it’s massive & it looks amazing. 😀
The Dawn Treader itself is certainly not a disappointment. Lets hope the movie lives up to the perfect-ness of the ship. 🙂
Wouldn’t it be great if there was a video of that? 😀 This is so exciting, Ihave you guys seen the pics Kylie added of the sail? It’s purple! It’s still folded but it’s purple!
when was these pics taken……i went and saw the ship yesterday morning (30.8.09) it looks absolutly awsome 🙂
WOW that is Awsome, but the ship Sounds more like a traditional looking ship in the Book though!
I’m not sure any ship can be described as “traditional” when it has green sides, a purple sail, and a gilded prow shaped like a dragon. 🙂 The detail is stunning!
The dragon was gold and every thing else was regular except for the purple sail
i thought that it would look different, i thought
it would be like how ”BenBarnesLover” put it but
