Narnia: The Exhibition comes to Huntsville, AL, following Star Wars

When I was in middle school, I got hooked on a little known film series called Star Wars. Ever since, I’ve been a fan of the property through thick and thin. I loved seeing all of the special editions on the big screen in 1997, and I loved seeing each of the prequels as they hit the big screen. I’ve heard about the Star Wars exhibit that is now in Huntsville, AL; but never seen it. But they’re going to be getting something that I have seen, and loved: the Chronicles of Narnia Exhibition!

And according to a report, they’re going to have it in the fall of 2010, which is the prime position as the next Narnia film is coming out. There’s no word yet on if the Dawn Treader additions will be ready in time, but it’s possible. After all, they are expanding the exhibition with each movie that is released, and work has already begun on the parts featuring Dawn Treader.

If you get the chance to see the Narnia Exhibition this year, and they do have things from the Dawn Treader, please write in to us about it!

Here’s part of the report from Huntsville’s WHNT 19:

‘Where Science Meets Imagination’ has already been seen in 12 cities worldwide by over 2 million people. The family friendly and hands-on nature of the exhibit is expected to bring up to 175,000 additional guests to the U.S. Space and Rocket Center over the summer. Rocket Center spokesman Al Whitaker says it’s all about putting Huntsville on the map.

“That’s the bottom line and that’s what it’s all about, it gets our name out, gets more people to our museum, more people in town and ultimately it’s not just about us,” said Al Whitaker, spokesperson for the U.S. Space and Rocket Center. “It’s area restaurants, the hotels, gas stations…everybody benefits.”

And although the Star Wars exhibit hasn’t even begun yet, the Space and Rocket Center has already booked the next big exhibit to come in the fall of 2010: ‘The Chronicles of Narnia’.

  1. No way! We only live about two hours from there… I sense a family vacation in the making! 😉

  2. Ugh… why so far?

I think this’ll be fantastic for the movie series, though. I mean, every bit of advertising you can get is great. Being so close to such magical stuff definitely can’t hurt. 😉

    • Ooh, and as a clever, added, sneaky bonus… for those who come for Star Wars late and miss it might find themselves in Narnian territory. >=D

  3. SO jealous! I loved the Narnia exhibit while it was in Philadelphia- and I wish I could go to it again! Hope everyone enjoys it- and the Star Wars one too!

  4. Star Wars, Narnia, Lord of the Rings — I love them all! I don’t know of an epic fantasy I don’t like. 🙂

  5. YAY!!!!! That’ll be only like 4 hours from me. I can see it again. This is perfect.

  6. ACtually, the Star Wars exhibition isn’t there yet; it’ll be there from June-August, I think. My family and I went to the U.S. Space and Rocket Center just last week and saw all the huge posters for SW; I’m really ticked off that the Narnia exhibition won’t be there at a time when I could go. I’ve already been to the SW exhibiton 3 years ago in Texas.
