Roy Billing, The Chief Dufflepud, Interviewed

Roy Billing cast as Chief Duffer

Roy Billing, the actor playing the Chief Dufflepud in The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, has been interviewed at the AFI Award Nominations for 2009. In the interview, he talks about his work on Narnia, as well as how they’re going to portray the Dufflepuds.

Interviewer: Tell me, are you working at the moment? Any upcoming projects I should know about?

Roy Billing: The week after next I go back up to the Gold Coast to finish off a role in the new Narnia chronicles movie, playing a character called the Chief Dufflepud, who will be digitally shrunk to about that tall (pantomimes short size), with one leg, a big nose, big ears, beard… you won’t recognize me. It was great. But 3 hours in the make-up chair. Oh, and hair everywhere!

What this means is that the Dufflepuds will be digitally shrunk, likely the same way that the Hobbits were in The Lord of the Rings, for The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. This was expected, and something that I’ve known for some time. 😉

  1. Wow. Now I’m even more excited. If they do it like they did the HObbits in LOTR and put it in 3D, it’s gonna be AWESOME!

  2. I’m still trying to imagine what a one-legged dwarf-like person will look like in 3D. I can’t wait!

  3. Nice, I’m pretty sure the Dufflepuds will be what I imagined them to look like.
