Anna Popplewell confirms Tiny role in Dawn Treader

Anna Popplewell was interviewed at the premiere of Charlie St. Cloud, recently. When asked about her role in the upcoming film The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, she confirmed that it was a very small role. This is something that I have said all along, and now we have some confirmation straight from the actress herself!

“I’m only in a teeny tiny fraction of it. I just went out basically to do this one scene, and to visit. But it looks like it’s going to be really good, and obviously I’m excited to see it.”

  1. Anna said that in Prince Caspian there wouldn’t be any big romance bewtween Susan and Caspian. It’s no secret many others disagree. Tilda Swinton lied about her role in Prince Caspian, I am told.
I do hope this is right though. Anna doesn’t seem the type to lie in anyway, so that gives me hope.

    • I’d give Swinton the benefit of the doubt. It wasn’t physically her in the movie, it was a CGI reconstruction of her figure–is it possible that at the time of the interview where she stated she didn’t expect to be in PC, she genuinely hadn’t been told about the model they’d made of her?

  2. So it’s possible that the footage in the trailer was teaser footage, not actual movie footage. And people were getting so upset.

    • That is a very possible idea. I don’t know why anyone thought of that before. Coming from Anna, I believe now that there is truly nothing to worry about.

      • VERY possible! if we were freaking out over that than I’ll probably cry! haha. Come on ya’ll, I’m daring you to prove this theory wrong!

    • Anna and Will would not come all the way down to the set just to shoot a few shots for a trailer. Those shots will be in the movie.

  3. I hope they do not actually come to Narnia because that would conflict with the end of p.c. but I don’t mind them being in the movie to explain where they are during it.

    • ME! I have been waiting ever since I read the book years ago. 🙂

I don’t mind them in the film, I just hope they are not actually in Narnia. That would not really fit in.
Anna looks more like a woman now, she did in PC, but even more so now…and her accent is so much more modern English…:)

  4. Susan is one of my favorite characters in Narnia and it’s just so sad to know that she is going to be the one who will lose hope and not return to Narnia in “the Last Battle”… why does it have to be her??? i just hope that the Directors of “the Last Battle” will somehow change Susan’t fate and make the story a HAPPY ENDING with Susan back in Narnia… we love you SUSAN!! we love you ANNA POPPLEWELL!! :))

  5. wow! That’s so great to hear something from Anna! She’s such a beautiful person! I’m glad that she’s in it but not a ton.

  6. lol., i think there’s nothing wrong in changing a bit from the book., if it will make the movie better then why not.. ^^,

  7. Isn’t there a piece in the VDT book where Lucy is looking through Coriakin’s magic book for a spell to make her beautiful and she (Lucy) sees her sister (Susan) in the book? Maybe that is the scene Anna was doing.

  8. if she is in the movie i hope they do something with her and caspian, its realy killing me. i need to know how their relationship ends up
