Royalty to attend Dawn Treader’s Royal Premiere

The Cinema and Television Benevolence Fund have updated their listing for the world premiere of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. At the top of the story it says “In the presence of HM (Her Majesty) The Queen of England and HRH (His Royal Highness) The Duke of Edinburgh.” This was to be expected, though, as it is the Royal Premiere.

The Royal World Premiere will be held in two locations in London, England on November 30.

    • Queen Elizabeth of England and her husband, Duke of Edinburgh are attending the premiere of the Dawn Treader. Royal premieres feature the royalty of the country that the premiere is in. Prince Charles, in 1999, attended the world (?) premiere of Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace in London. It might have been a royal premiere, I’m not sure. Besides, you have to buy tickets to go to the premiere, and they’re probably pretty expensive and/or hard to come by anyway unless you’re a VIP.

  1. I have to say i was fairly surprised – i thought we’d have to make do with having only second or third tier royalty at the premiere. To get the Queen and Prince Phillip seems like a big coup to me.

  2. Awesome, the queen and the duke attending to VDT 😀 saddly I don’t live in UK, but excited 4 the premiere on theaters this December 😀
