Anne of Green Gables

I'm so glad you two found this thread! I subscribed to it, and almost canceled the subscription because no one had posted here in a long time.
Over the summer my mom bought me the entire series from a garage sale. I plan on finishing the series (I had to stop at Anne's House of Dreams) next summer hopefully.
 
I read the first book a few months ago. I had it for years and years, and when I was really young, I tried to read it, but I couldn't get into it. I just read it for a book report, but it was actually better than I expected. I also saw the first movie.

I doubt I'll read the rest of the books, though. If I ever get a chance, I might. :)

you should fully read them. they rock.
but if the books aren't your thing, you should COMPLETELY see the 2nd movie. not the 3rd, cause it has NOTHING to do with ANY books in the series, and is crud. the 2nd movie is SOOOOO ROMANTIC. *siiiiigh*
 
Anybody seen :"Road To Avonlea" TV series?It was the spin-off (sort of) of Anne,and had some of the orginal cast as regulars,and is based on another book series LM Montgomery did.:)
 
I love road to avonlea, such a great show!!!!!

I started reading anne of green gables and am thoroughly enjoying it as much as i enjoy the movies. I plan on reading the whole series :)
 
I love Anne of Green Gables! I have seen all three of the movies. Meagan Follows is a superb actress. :) I have also read the two first books. My middle name is Anne "with an e" after Anne of Green Gables. :) My dream vaction is to visit Prince Edwards Island. Not likely to happen, but I can still dream. lol

OMGH i would LOVE to go there too! Meagan Follows is a great actress, as well as the rest of the cast, but it disgusts me that they made that third movie, and they are working on a prequel to Anne of Green Gables. I would have much preferred to see the entire series made into movies, rather than lobing them together.
 
Hey, wanting to visit P.E. Island is a good dream. I've heard it's quite beautiful! It would be fun. Who knows, maybe someday a bunch of us will end up there! Dare to dream.

Their working on a prequel? The third movie is kinda out of place, since it didnt happen, but I still liked it. I think it had a pretty good plot. I also love the way Jonathan Crombie said "sorry" in the movies. I'm a sucker for accents. :)
 
They did do a good job overall. The 3rd was a bit out of place, but oh well. But how will they do a prequel and why? None of the same actors could be in it and it would all be a sort of fan fiction...I'm not sure about what to think on that....don't like it really.

I'll hopefully see it...I'm probably the only one,but I liked hte third movie.:o
So as long as they don't do anything really weird,I could probably like this new one...although a different Anne will be strange..:(

Why would anybody want to watch a movie about that? It would be way too depressing! I think I'll just stick with the first movie. That's the best one and I know it by heart. I watch it over and over and over and over....
