Rangers of the Dancing Lawn III

"Whoa!" Migle watched in awe, " it is a pirate! Hmm...I think I remember Grandpa telling me about this one! All he eats is apples! Macho, was it? No...Machia! Wow..." She sat there fascinated, talking to herself.:D

Migle all of a sudden felt someone hit (him/her?) in the back. "C'mon, we have some more scouting to do. I wouldn't trust them if I were you," Sabriel said. "Narnia is being invaded by Orcs and creatues by the minute and you're just sitting there being wowed by the presence of so-called pirates?" she said.

Sabriel was one to not trust newcomers and she resented the fact that her leader had welcomed the pirates with opened arms.

"Hey, it's not everyday you meet pirates! 'Sides, it's only two of them..." She patted her horse and turned to go scouting with Sabriel, " Ah well...by the looks of things they'll be here when I get back.

"I over heard the pirates talking about orcs. I think they brought them back from wherever they came from," Sabriel said when all of a sudden Migle stopped.

"What's wrong?" Sabriel asked a second later.

"Can't you hear it?" Migle said.

"Hear what? Except for Anais and your horse breathing loudly," Sabriel snapped.

"Shhh! Listen," Migle demanded. "You can cut through the silence!" she said.

Both Sabriel and Migle were about to reach for their bow when an arrow went pass both of them landing in the tree behind them.

"Run! Back to the camp!" Sabriel said. "We're not even a mile away from the Ranger's camp and the enemy is already this close to us! We have to warn them!" she said as a wave of arrows came and missed both of them.

"What's going on?" Elindil asked Machia, "Where have the pirates been? what's been going on with you these past two years?"
Suddenly she stopped as one of the horses sniffed the air, and another pranced uneasierly. "Somethings wrong..." She whispered.

Migle and Sabriel went back to camp as fast as they could to warn the Rangers.
"Enemies! Just outside the camp!" Migle shouted as she ran past a group of Rangers.

*cough*

"What's going on?" Elindil asked Machia, "Where have the pirates been? what's been going on with you these past two years?"
Suddenly she stopped as one of the horses sniffed the air, and another pranced uneasierly. "Somethings wrong..." She whispered.

"Arrr, has it only been two years?" He asked, relief sweeping over him... "Gar, that's good, I feared it might 'ave been longer th'n that..." Elindil gave him a confused look... "Arrrr... 's complicated... I had no idea how long we've been gone for... We've been back on... on..." Machia paused, struggling to remember what the name of the land the pirates came from had been called...

"On E-" Fish began, but couldn't get any farther then that, "In the land where we pirates originally came from." She finished... "And time moves at a different speed there. We were only gone for a month."

"But what happened to the Black Spot and all the rest of the crew?" Elindil asked...

"They... be still thar..." The First Mate answered. But even as he spoke the memory of Earth and everything that happened while they were there began to get a bit distant... "Arrr... we lost the Black Spot, I remember... She sunk somehow... and then I did something terrible... I backstabbed and killed... No, that's not right... No one died, I just felt like that... I lead a mutiny against the Cap'n and Fish and I got mixed up with the Wizard again." Machia's struggled to remember all the details, "Thar was a battle, and we all got away somehow... The Cap'n and crew forgave us... The jolly roger was still up... There was another battle... We were captured by Saruman again and then we ended up here... The rest of the crew is still in the other land... But they should be arriving very soon... The ship they were on was right beside our ship... "

"But what has happened to Narnia?" Fish asked, "Did everything change this much in two years?"

Suddenly Elindil stopped as one of the horses sniffed the air, and another pranced uneasierly. "Something's wrong..." She whispered.

Machia and Fish sprung to their feet and automatically reached for their weapons, before remembering they were still unarmed...

Hehe, this is cool! :D *dances*
Name: Rhyl
Occupation: Ranger
Age: 20
Hair: Long, braided, curly brown hair.
Eyes: Sparkling green eyes.
Build: Athletic
Height: 5' 9"

Rhyl finished tying up her knee high boot and swept back her long braid as she stood. She was a young ranger, so she wasn't as seasoned as the others, but she had great skill with the bow and daggers. Thankfully, she hadn't much need to use them yet, but she knew the day would come soon when her skill, and her heart, would be put to the test.

She jogged quickly to the main area of the Ranger camp where Elindil, Sabriel, and the others were gawping at some pirates! She gasped, her green eyes opening wide with shock. Pirates, she thought, here? What were they doing here and why did Elindil just release them from their restraints? Staying a little behind the others, she watched closely... then Elindil said, "Something's wrong..." Rhyl tensed up, her senses alert. What was it?

"Where are my scouts?" Elindil muttered angrily handing her sword to Machia and dagger to Fish. "Sorry but they'll have to do for now. We don't have many weapons suited to your liking."

Machia & Fish took them without complaint. "What...enemies would they be?" Fish asked, "Men? Beasts?"

"Goblins or Orks," said one of the rangers.

"Most likely orks," Elindil agreed, "But these days you never know for certain. Prepare for battle!" She said to her Rangers in a loud whisper. But something was puzzleing her. How had they found the camp?

"Who's going to guard the prisioners?" A nearby ranger spat, gesturing towards Fish and Machia. "For all we know, they're with the enemy."

Fish and Machia glanced at eachother. Elindil had been in Middle Earth since before the pirates had disappeared to earth, and she had only come back within the past 6 months. After talking with Migle, they had been able to figure out that the time scheme had passed thusly:

2 Middle Earth years = 450 Narnian years = 2 Earth months

(ooc- this means that since the pirates went back to earth, Elindil aged 2 years, 6 months, as she was in Middle Earth up until 6 months ago, Fish and Machia aged 2 months, and Narnia (and everyone in it) aged 450 years)

Elindil turned sharply to the ranger that had spoken. "Mathias, they are not, nor will they ever be, our prisioners. They come from the pirates of Narnia, with whom we are allianced. Now I suggest you prepare for battle, lest the orcs take you by surprise." She glared at Mathias for a moment before turning and facing the woods once again.

Mathias threw a dirty look at the pirates, but said nothing more. Machia and Fish joined Elindil at the front line, though Fish choose to stay a step back, having only a dagger to protect her.

"Elindil," Fish whispered, "Mathias isn't the first Ranger to have shown distrust of us. There's enough trouble in Narnia already without having the only rebellion against Saruman at ends with itself."

"They have reason to be distrustful." Elindil whispered back to Fish, "We have been betrayed twice in the last six months, and the rangers have become wary... of everyone."

"They have reason to be distrustful." Elindil whispered back to Fish, "We have been betrayed twice in the last six months, and the rangers have become wary... of everyone."

"Aye, I suppose that's enough to make anyone distrustful, but yer word ain't good enough?" Machia said.

"And what when our mates come?" Fish added, "Perhaps the rangers can deal with us, but a whole crew o' pirates? Nay, I think we'd best take our leave, and soon."

"Get everyone into their positions!" Sabriel said as the horse she was riding was coming towards Fish and Elindil in full force. They'll be here any moment and It's not going to be pleasant!" she said as she got closer. She got off her horse and headed towards the weapon's tent and filled her quiver with arrows. When she exited the tent she heard the drums of war coming from the woods and in a blink of an eye an army of orcs came running out of the orcs as the Rangers who were in the front lines aimed their orcs at the sky.

"How did they find us?" Elindil muttered again, she glance uneasily at Fish and Machia, "You didn't...?" She never finished the question
