Rangers of the Dancing Lawn III

Migle sent an arrow through an attacking goblins head.
"There's too many of them to have found us just now...they've most likely been camping out for days...weeks, maybe." She shot another arrow that piearced two goblins through their chests.

"How did they find us?" Elindil muttered again, she glance uneasily at Fish and Machia, "You didn't...?" She never finished the question

The Orcs had come. Fish had hoped that the attack would be minor and she could stay out of it, but it was soon apparent that that was an unrealistic expectation.

"O' course we didn't!" Fish spat angrily to Elindil as she attempted to dodge an Orc's blade. For the most part, she was successful. The sword grazed her left arm, and she quickly lunged foward and jabbed her dagger into the Orc's heart. Another Orc came behind her and brought its sword downward... Fish noticed the attack just in time and rolled out of the way.

Machia swung the sword and cut down an orc... Turning to meet another one he DVed close to Elindil.... "Arrr... We just managed to escape from some orcs right before yer rangers took us captive... They must have followed yer horses..."

The orc fell under Machia's blade. Another sprung from behind him, in an attempt to cut his throat... The First Mate managed to step out of the attack and stab the orc... He continued on DV....

"That or the Wizard has his armies doin' a search of this entire area to find us. He must've know right away that we escaped from the ship..." Two more orcs came at him. He met the first blade... The other one caught him on the arm, but the next second the orc fell by a ranger's arrow... Machia stabbed the other orc and moved to help the other rangers...

"Fish be right, Elindil... The sooner we get away from yer camp the better..." He said hurriedly... "Gar, we can draw his searches away from this part o' Narnia, so the Wizard will know ye ain't hidin' us... Then Fish and I can lay low 'til the rest o' our crew comes..."

Machia's DV was cut short as an orc jumped from the trees onto his back and caught him around the neck... The First Mate stumbled backwards and slammed himself and the orc into a tree...

Sabriel was near Machia and overheard him talk to Elindil as she ducked and beheaded two orcs.

"Well, it's too late for that now!" she said as Machia ducked and she lunged forward to stab an orc. She then ducked and Machia swung his sword cutting off an arm that was about to stab Sabriel. "We'll have to resettle as soon as we're done fighting. All thanks to you..Pirates!," she said as threw a dagger at an oncoming orc.

Jumping up, Fish slit the attacking orc's throat, but not without a price. In her haste, Fish hadn't noticed that in his other hand, the orc held a knife, which he plunged into Fish's side as her dagger went across his throat. She gave a short cry, but armed herself with the dead orc's sword.

The number of the orcs had already started to diminish, so Fish shrank against a tree, fighting only those orcs which came and attacked her.

"Aye, well, we hardly asked ye to bring us to yer camp!" Fish shot back. "Seems to me, we'd've been long off this island had ye not stopped us." Fish brought her sword across the back of an orc's neck, and then chanced a run across the battlefield to where Sabriel and Machia were fighting.

EDIT: Oops, sorry for the double post! :o

"sorry then!" Elindil replied as she fired an arrow at an ork that was running towards the horses. She pulled out her dagger and stabbed an ork in the neck. Bows and arrows are fine, but at close quarters swords & knives are better.

Elindil noticed that Fish was injured, and made her way over to her.

"Arrr, yeah, but if t'weren't fer us pirates that orc wouldn've had it's sword clean through ye..." Machia muttered as he slashed his sword across another orc... Although the bodies of the dead orcs lay all over the camp, it didn't seem to slow down the oncoming orcs any... More of them were pouring in from the woods every second...

Machia suddenly heard Fish cry out, and saw her fall back against a tree in pain... The First Mate smashed the hilt of his sword into and oncoming orc's face and moved towards Fish blocking an orc who was headed in her direction.... He DVed Fish...

"Arrr, Fish are ye alright?" He turned and stabbed an orc archer who was aiming his bow at an unsuspecting ranger...

Elindil cast a quick but skilled eye over the wound while Machia kept the orks at bay.
"Tisn't too bad." She muttered, "But you'll be wanting the healer to look at it."

Fish grinned. "After all the injuries I've had, do ye really think a knife stab is goin' ta stop me?" (ooc- it's called being out of ideas... When all else fails, get injured...;) :D) She said as she skillfully drove her sword behind her into the stomach of an oncoming orc.

"Now, as the orcs are looking fer Machia 'n me, yer goin' to want us to stick around fer awhile after these orcs are dead, aye?" Fish asked Sabriel sarcastically.

"We can take you somewhere the orks will never find you..." Said Elindil firing another arrow. "This camp isn't hard to find..."

"Dex Aie! Alala! Akharai!" A war cry boomed through the air, opposite of the side the rangers. Silvanus dug his heels into his horse's sides, forcing the brown horse to rear up and strike an orc full in the face with sharpened hooves, knocking it backward like a rag doll. "To me!"
He gripped his spear, thrusting it into the body of another. An axe crashed down on the spear, still sticking in the body of the unfortunate orc--splintering it and rendering it useless. With a grunt Silvanus drew his sword, Daekrinn, and prepared to cut his own path through the throng of opponents.

"Are you sure their smell won't lead them to us?" Sabriel sneered. She streched the string on her bow and shot an arrow. She called for her horse, Anais, and it came running to her at the sound of her whistle. Sabriel quickly got on her horse taking out her sword to behead the remaining orcs. "The orcs are dwindling," she said as she walked away, but not before giving Fish the death glare.

"That's enough out of ye!" Fish shouted angrily. She teleported in front of Sabriel and brandished her sword. "We ain't done nothin' to ye! YE are the one that decided to take US hostage. Aye the orcs are after us, but do ye think they would've attacked ye if ye hadn't led 'em straight to yer camp? But ye know what? Have it yer way. Elindil was the only reason we ever allied with ye rangers in the first place."

"Fish..." Elindil said sternly. "Watch yourself or you'll be my prisoner again."

A side smile appeared on Sabriel's face and she dug her heels onto Anais' ribs. "I'd listed to her if I were you," she said as she ran off.

ooc-let me know if you guys want to continue the orc battle or if you guys want to up the tension another notch :D

Silvanus and his horse, Aurora, thundered into the backs of the orcs, throwing those closest to him into a mass of confusion. Not too far, now. There were only about two-score orcs there. He kicked out with his left foot, catching one of the vile creatures and sending it off balance, and stabbed another one in the throat. Almost there. Attacking the enemy from behind is one matter, trying to flank them with the fewer numbers is entirely another. Aurora galloped as fast as she could toward the band of Rangers, trampling over the bodies of her master's enemies.

ic- Fish angrily spat on the ground. When Sabriel was out of earshot, Fish turned back to Elindil. "At light o' day, Machia and I are leavin'. Arr...we'll uphold the alliance o' the pirates an' the rangers, an' if any o' yer rangers be wantin' to spread out, we'll take some o' em and head another clan elsewhere."
