Official Ben Barnes Thread

I will say, Ben did better than I thought he would in PC, and he seems to be a fine actor. But I do still think he was too old for this role, and his accent was funky. Also, I don't think he exhibited the humility Caspian has in the book, nor the love for Old Narnia. It seems in the film he just grasped the Old Narnians as a way to get back at Miraz and become king, at first at least.
I have to agree with inkspot. I thought that Ben was too old for the part, and he lacked the innocent youth-like personality of Caspian in the books. His accent seemed fine to me (but then again, I'm not a Spanish accent expert!).
The only thing I was pretty dissatisfied with was the fact that he seemed kind of weak in comparison to Peter doing most of the battle with Miraz, etc.
I mean, Peter got Miraz all tired and then Caspian was the one that---after Peter's work and fight---was supposed to kill Miraz.
I guess Peter was supporting Caspian, and that is true to the book, but still, it seemed kind of strange.

I think Ben Barnes did a good job in Prince Caspian.
I like that Caspian is portrayed as a teenager of flesh and blood. He is both noble and courageous, and vulnerable. Sometimes afraid, and reluctant to be king. Would have hated it, if he had been some kind of impersonal, plastic Prince Perfect.
It was a mistake, though, to delete the "Picking Marshalls" scene, in my view. Here Caspian says he wants to fight Miraz himself. But Peter won't let him. We, who have read the book/seen this deleted scene, know that Caspian is not a coward, who just let's others fight for him. But in the film it may look a bit like it. Shame!
The accent is charming, I think. And it's a good idea, that the Telmarines have their own accent.
So I liked Ben Barnes as Caspian. And I look very much forward to The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.

it will be very intesting to see ben reprise his role :)

it will be very intresting to see ben reprise hs role in the VODT, it should be very cool to see what he will do with the 3rd installment of the movie series :) can't wait :)

WTF Ben was on Jay Leno?!?! I never knew. I knew about his Jimmy Kimmel interview because I saw it over in the Benonites II thread, but not the Jay Leno one. Can someone post a link for me?

Haha, wow. This thread is ... amusing, I guess I shall say.

I LOVED his PC accent; I also LOVE his normal English accent.

I LOVE his hair the way it is now. Not short. Such a small thing, but I think he's way cuter with Caspian or current length hair. That's just me.

And I think he did a FANTASTIC job with Caspian. Perfect. I wasn't overly-fond of the book's Caspian, if you will. I love what Ben did with it, however.

Did anyone here see him when he was on Leno, on the 13th? That was also the soundtrack premier and when Switchfoot played the REAL (and amazing!) version of This is Home on Leno.

(The version in the movie is MESSED up. Grrrr. >_< )
WHAT?!?!? He was on Leno?!?!?! How come I never knew this?!?!?! Can somebody find a clip for me?!?!?!?!?!

On a brighter note, the trailer for Dorian Gray has been released!!!!!!!!! :D:D

Again, keep this thread on professional updates or legitimate criticism of Ben Barnes. Not fan stuff.

To an earlier question: Ben's middle name is Thomas.

I'd see it only because of Ben, but because of content, I don't believe it's worth sacrificing belief for seeing it just because of one actor...tried that with Moulin Rouge and turned it off after 15 minutes because it was weird and dumb. None of his other films look that appealing to me.

You know, I was watching Saturday Night Live with my family last night with Megan Fox hosting, and it got me thinking, wouldn't it be awesome if they got Ben Barnes to host an episode?! I would so totally watch that!!! :D
