Share a pic not of yourself

Linda! how good to see you here! And I love the lion!!!
How are you feeling, and how are your travels going? We miss you.

Patrick -- thanks for sharing your photos. How interesting you got to visit Amish settlements firsthand. Did you get to see quilters at work or other handicrafts during your visit?

This is a Byzantine mosaic floor with an aslan (lion) that I saw in a museum in Turkey.

That is really neat!

Wow. Very nice pictures, everyone!

I took this picture a few weeks ago:

Not anything too spectacular, but I made a mistake on the focus of it and it actually turned out better. XD

nice effect of the filtered light, NLullaby :)

Another aslan in Turkey sighting:
Here is a lion statue from the classical Roman era from a city originally named Aphrodisias in honor of Aphrodite/Venus, but later renamed Stauroúpolis (Σταυρούπολις) "City of the Cross" in the Byzantine era. This is a large and active dig with workers diligently restoring a huge amphitheater there not far from the temple, baths, community meeting place, agoras, and bishop's palace. While I was in the Roman bath area of the site, I saw men hauling away wheelbarrows of debris...

Thanks, both of you. :D I was originally trying to focus on the back leaves, but that front one focused instead. The sunlight in the background actually made it look alright.

Really nice lion! I saw one similar to that the other day.

A bit random, but this is from when the rain flooded the lake in my neighborhood a few months ago. I drew a red line where the lake is supposed to start.

Thankfully, no one's basements flooded or anything and the water went back down a few hours later.

The Bearcat is beary scary!!!

Lullaby, what a great shot of the flood. Thank you for the handy reminder of where the lake should start/stop.

Double Pistachio Turkish Delight

Here is some Double Pistachio Turkish Delight that I brought back from Turkey. Imagine the honey sweetness of baklava but with lots of pistachios (instead of walnuts) in a chewy mix similar to the consistancy of mochi (or soft but edible chewing gum for those of you that don't dig Japanese food) sprinkled with powdered sugar. (I turned 2 pieces on their sides so you could see what they look like without the powdered sugar.) Caution: It really is tempting... and addictive.
