well, that's good. I really don't like it when the movie script-writers decide to do something completely different from the book, just with the same characters. You came to see the original story, not some fanfiction!

I'll watch it then, but I need to read the book first. It's a rule of my Mum's, that we need to read the book before we can watch the movie based on it. Hopefully I'll be going to the library in two days; I'll check it out then.
no, the only thing I've read by Jane Austen is Pride and Prejudice. But I've been meaning to read Sense and Sensibility.

I have started reading The Tale of Sophia Renee, and it's fantastic! I think Duncan might be my favourite character.
Well that's encouraging, thanks for telling me! Sadly, she's very stubborn, in fact she said she was thinking about joining the Wisconsin Synod (she was Missouri Synod last I knew). Still, I hope she'll see the light some day.

Aye, you're completely right. I saw how dull and dead Lutheranism is. It seems none of it really has to do with the condition of the soul, but merely performing an outward ritual every sunday. Personally I believe that one has to truly dedicate himself to God in spirit, not in weekly rituals. Not that there's anything neccessarily wrong with weekly rituals, but real Christianity must have both faith and works or it is dead.
In my exgirlfriend, I saw a bit of both.

I see. Odd how fears can chase people away from good things. In my case, she left me because I'm not a Lutheran like she is, even though I told her that it didn't matter to me. She said she thought that somehow our small doctrinal differences would be too much in the way, even though I'd talked to her about them and explained that it really didn't matter to me.
I've been beginning to see that side of the story for myself. The more I look into what happened, I see that she really didn't love me as much as I loved her. Especially interesting to me was how she started to become cold and distant, just like Sophia did, even though I continued to treat her lovingly as I always did. -
