Never, never, never be ashamed of using logic. Do you realize that no one CAN do so much as read and believe the Bible WITHOUT performing syllogisms, even if they don't realize that this IS what they're doing? Like this:

MAJOR PREMISE: The Bible is correct in all places where it states something as a literal fact.

MINOR PREMISE: The Bible says that Jesus rose from the dead.

CONCLUSION: Therefore, we can be certain that Jesus did in fact rise from the dead.

I _liked_ the way you analyzed Tim's motives with prayer requests. In society at large today, "too much analysis" _isn't_ the problem; the problem is too much emotional oversimplification.
