  • Hi Lynne,
hope you are enjoying a restful weekend -- relaxing from the busyness of the week.

I like what you said about paying attention to the basics and waiting on God. Wise advice -- so reasonable, but not the easiest for me to follow through on. Too often the tyranny of the urgent presses in on me and it is hard to be still and wait for God to take the lead. Earlier this year I decided to tithe 1% of my time to the Lord, just to listen to Him without any agendas (= 15 minutes a day). But it's been a very challenging resolution to keep!
Thank Goodness for His mercy and patience with me --
    Linda
    Hi Lynne,
How has God been at work in your life lately? What is He teaching you?

My husband Cliff and I just recently finished the Love Dare couples' guide by Kendrick and it was a stretching and fun exercise to do together. I highly recommend it; no matter how strong your relationship is, it is still important to keep learning and growing as a couple. As a result I've been challenged to make specific choices to be more thoughtful and time oriented.
    Hi Lynne,
thank you for inviting me to be your friend. As I read some of your posts to get to know a bit better it seems that we have quite a bit in common:
Both us us have lost a parent that we hope responded in the end to the truth of Christ that they had heard from us -- your mother and my father. Also music seems to be
an important part of both our lives (I direct the choir at our church and was a school district accompanist for 2 school choirs before becoming caretaker to my mom this spring. My mom also was a church choir director and taught music for years). And since I homeschool my daughter with Down syndrome, we have a special education connection too. [Currently I'm working on some presentations in this area: I have a proposal in consideration for the National Down Syndrome Congress convention this summer, and my husband and I will be sharing at a multi-church special needs ministry forum at the beginning of March. Also, my daughter and I have been asked to share the message during worship at one of our sister churches in March... and I am planning a couple disability ministry trainings in March and April. So I have a lot to be praying about to get ready...] And of course we both love men who love C.S. Lewis, although my husband is more a fan of his theological treatises than his fiction. Looking forward to getting to know you better.
Blessings, Linda -- also a baby boomer like you
I'm okay, Lynne, thank you. And I hope that a certain case of NEEDLESS FOOT-DRAGGING is nearing an end!!!!!

I spoke this week to the daughter Mary and I raised, about my unmarried sister-in-law through Janalee: the same sister-in-law discussed in my "Sister-in-Law" prayer thread. My daughter startled me with just HOW FAVORABLE she was to the possibility of my courting and marrying that sister-in-law. So please lend a prayer for God's will for me in that area.
...but I didn't paint it... I found it off the internet and it reminded me of Aslan and so I made it my avatar.
hahah thanks. I absolutely love lions... and my name's Ariel, which means "Lion of God" lol hence, my username =]
I think you'll find that I have added many more sonnets to my sonnet thread since you last looked at it.
