  • Yay! It's your birthday! I hope that you have a truly amazing birthday, dearie. You are a great person, so you deserve a great birthday. :D *sends virtual flowers*
Sorry, I sort of saw my name in a visitor message and so I read it. Olorin would be one of the people to ask about Mafia games on this forum.
Oh wow. xD I've never heard of him before, but that sounds interesting for sure. :D

I'll probably start the thread sometime this week. :D I'm now waiting only on Lossy's reply. This should be a lot of fun. :) I'm glad you're going to participate.
Recently, my sister (Celebrilomiel) and I had the idea to have a Duffer farm thread, in which my sheep, Mr. Soap, Sopespian's buffalo, Toodles, and Glen's Sushi, would interact. GG agreed to come by and teach the animals in the Art of Consumption, and my sister is going to be the veterinarian who wonders why all of the animals are suffering from indigestion. :D I wondered if you would like to participate in some way. You have a sheep from Glen, don't you? xD
Just wondering, were you around for the development of invisible writing? Or is that.. after your time?
I'm not 100% sure how mafia works, and I've played six games. If you want to talk to an expert, ask Lava. But I understand about business. You should play sometime, though...maybe sometime school isn't in session. Mafia is a blast, and it's not that time-consuming, unless you're either running the game to PM'ing other players to a ridiculous degree.

Yes, I have a "cooperating teacher." I have to teach three lessons under her, two of which she grades me on; and, the rest of the time, I am supposed to act as a sort of teacher's aide. The school experience isn't easy, but I'm glad to be getting it. I was homeschooled, so the grade school atmosphere is a little foreign to me anyway; and, in a school where most of the kids come from rough backgrounds, I'm starting to understand something of what inner-city teachers face, and why a lack of student achievement isn't always the teacher's fault. I'll probably end up at a private school, which is why I'm glad to get this experience now.
I'm still in college--I'm history ed. and doing a practicum now where I spend two mornings a week in a public school classroom. Just taught my first lesson (Global Studies II--settlement of North America) this morning. Which was interesting; the kids aren't all ADHD, but they act like it.

Piano's cool--I taught it to a few students in high school, but after leaving for college, I had to quit. I'm of an amateur musician, anyway; history's more "my thing."
Just noticed on your profile that you're teaching Latin and piano--very cool. Is this your first year teaching?
    haha overlap!

gah. I am a bit... er... nervous since we are now staying with my husband's parents for the time being in Cali. Now I have to take the test for a new driver's licence. I am so bad at multiple choice... I should prolly go study soon...
In teaching, ESL specifically. We are trying to be sure... but not to sure in case God has other plans in mind. I wish things were much more ironed out though. I don't like the waiting/guessing game.

Yes, I remember that. I am glad that you were able to move forward with it. I remember being somewhat shocked by your change of plans. haha. It's good you have almost finished your prereqs, that's another foot forward.
