If you plan to start fresh, then here is my recommendation:
Set up a second window to keep on hand as you begin to re-read "Alipang Havens." In this extra window, make notes of each point in time where you definitely want to coordinate something in Summer's experience. Combining this with what I already provided you, you should be able to produce a story which is its own story, but ALSO blends with mine.
This may sound like work, but trust me, it's worth it. If you were to say, for example, that Summer's father died six months after his injuries, whereas my story had him still alive all the way through, it would be a jarring note. With consistency, a reader won't have to "choose between" the two histories of Smoky Lake.
