Monday: Summer not at school due to sickness caught on Sunday. Alipang saves Sammy Ashford from Leopard Man, and gives Trig notes to Kim; Chilena meets Dan.
Tuesday: Summer still sick. Grant, as a pacifist, scolds Alipang for scaring the bully ("Bad Sam," same first name as Alipang's new friend) who harassed Grant. Brendan befriends Alipang. After school, ex-homeschooler Callie is saved from an attacking Rottweiler by Wilson Kramer. That evening, Chilena is allowed to go to a movie with Dan, while Alipang works at Pansit Paradise. Enroute home on foot, Alipang thwarts and chases off two hoodlums who thought they could jump him by surprise. This comes to attention of Police Chief Costamesa, friend of Havens family, who resolves that the high schools need a police presence either city- or county-provided. (Not shown in my story, but also on Tuesday in the RPG, Alipang was on the stairs and caught a falling girl named Cindy. I let the reader know that Cindy loses balance often due to a brain tumor. I didn't stick with her storyline because it was depressing.)
Wednesday: Summer back at school. Stupid assembly about self-love is held. At lunch, Leopard Man threatens Chilena; in retribution, Alipang gives Principal Flora Lewiston the photo of L.M. robbing Sammy. That afternoon, Rocknose assaults Dan, menaces Chilena; but Kim Tisdale, too full of her supposedly greater wisdom, scolds Alipang for seeking to defend the victims while paying NO attention to what the bully is doing. To prove to Kim that he is not a mindless brawler, Alipang lets Rocknose beat on him without hitting back. Dan and Chilena both catch the same bug Summer had before; Dan is more seriously affected, because he once had mononucleosis.
Thursday: Alipang refusing to speak to Kim. Summer is first harassed by Bad Sam and Carlos; Kramer hauls them to Principal's office. Leopard Man harasses Summer next, knocks her out when she fights him. Sammy Ashford helps Summer while Kramer is getting back to the scene. After school, Brendan saves Alipang who was ganged up on. Alipang hospitalized overnight. Chilena almost recovered from illness. Jason comes to his senses, rejects all further gang contact.
Friday: Alipang's parents and Chilena visit him in hospital, as do Pastor and Mrs. Stetzer; Alipang comes home later in the day. Dan still laid up with the bug. Kim finds out just how wrong she was to think Alipang would fight over nothing; this in part through an angry phone call by Chilena. Chilena, hoping that disillusionment with Kim will drive her brother into Summer's arms, takes Alipang to Summer's house, goes on from there to visit Dan. "Popcorn scene" occurs, and joke-telling for Nick Heron. Before bed, Chilena asks Alipang to support her desire to find out what's happened to her birth parents.
Saturday: Escrima master asks Alipang to do narration at their demonstration on Monday, since Alipang can't spar now. Alipang is upset by Chilena talking too openly about just HOW similar to a romance the love between them is. Kim comes and humbly apologizes to Alipang while driving him to the Pansit. Jason is among those attending the church-volunteer lunch there. Later, Chilena's birth parents, Jim and Kathleen Jakekens, with Chilena's birth brother Mike, pay a puzzling and unsatisfactory visit, offering to give work to Chillena.
