Wow--I haven't gotten quite as far as that in trying to get a handle on the original wording, etc. I like the way the NIV manages to be readable and stay almost as accurate as the NASB--however, I've never tried the NLT, so I shouldn't talk.
I do like the Shakespearian (is that the word?) English, though I probably picked it up from reading a really old translation of Calvin's sermons. It's amazing how it goes from looking nearly unintelligible to making perfect (or nearly perfect) sense after you pick things out for a while. If only all languages were so easy to learn!
I shall. It may take me a while, but I'll read it. However, I should get off NF soon, and finish preparing for the upcoming test in Old Testament. They're not usually too difficult--I'm pretty familiar with the material--but keeping all the prophets straight is a bit of a challenge.
