A New Challenge

Peter, Edmund when was the last time that you saw her? Was she here with us when we got here?

I'm afraid that she may be on "their" side and if that's so then it's too late to help her for the moment... if we wish to save her we must first find a different place to meet.

Beaver's I hope you have a way out of here to the back up meeting spot...the beaver's replied that they did and we were once again on the move! Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, we reached a small room that was a magical one...aslan was the only one who could open it...

they went inside and began to talk. aslan bowed his head and slowly began to talk, stumbling b/c he didn't know where to start
 
*Loretta was hurt**she knew Aslan didn't trust her, but why should he not trust her when she saved their lives countless times?**a tear slid from her eyes as she turned away**she did not like Aslan**He seemed way to high of himself and seemed not as sweet and as gentle toward others as everyone said* If only I never met him... *she whispered**she walked away lonely once again*

Edmund followed the others silently with his head hug low, for he was felt horrible for leaveing Loretta but it could have sworn she was following...
once they reached the room, Susan walked to Aslan, "its ok Dear Aslan...." she said, placing a sopporting hand on the lions soft back....
taking a deep breath Edmund walked to aslan, spotting beside his sister, "Aslan....I know Loretta wouldn't betray us...please...we have to save her..." he begged, pleaded with Aslan to save Loretta..
 
*Loretta didn't expect them to come after her, not after what Aslan had said**She did keep looking over her shoulder, hoping she'd see someone, but no one came**she was saddend by the lonliness* Thats what you get, you trust and you get betrayed! *she sighed and anger, saddness and lonliness burned in her*

suddenly a small animal stumbled into Loretta, it was a tiger cub named Grace, she looked up at the sqiurrel fearfully, "p-please don't hurt me!!" she cried, cowering in fear.

Grace managed a weak smile,"I can assure you I couldn't kill you even if I tried....I can barly even raor...." she said shyly, taking a few steps towards Loretta, once she seen she was of no threat to her she began to loosen up a bit, ".....I hope you don't mind me asking but....I couldn't help but notice you wern't with Aslan and the rest of your family...what happend?" she looked up innocently, her eyes haunted with a hurtful passed.

He's not all everyone says he is. He thinks I betrayed them...he thinks I'm with HER! *hurt burned in her eyes* He only goes for those who have a title and matter to Narnia...not like you and me...we don't get any titles, we're just subjects, only those who matter he cares about...*she looked back in the distance* Its you and me kid, on our own...*there was something sad and lost in her voice*

Grace lowered her head, she had seen the hurt still lingering in Lorettas eyes and could only guess how she must be feeling inside...
"I'm sorry....that can't be true though is it? I mean...I was told Aslan cared for everyone not just the people who are more important to Narnia...I mean were important also.....right?" she asked looking up at her, tears welling up in her eyes..

*Loretta looked down sadly* Yes we are important, very important because we make up their kingdom, but we aren't kings or queens and Narnia won't go to ruins without us...its only those vital people he cares about. *she looked down to Grace* I thought he cared about everyone too...but I guess we were both mis-lead.

a few tears slipped down Grace's face though she tried shaking them away, she felt fearful to show her feelings in front of others afraid they may hurt her for doing so though somehow she found this task extremely hard, "...but...we couldn't have been..." it broke her heart to think that everything she thought she new wasn't true, "no...thats horrible....it can't be true..."
 
out of the bushes came a great roar and aslan appeared before grace and loretta...."loretta i can't believe you thought i didn't trust you after all we've been through together and all you've done for the kingdom! i said that you three were the ones i was trusting and to not trust anyone else outside of our group. i never meant to hurt you or make you think that i didn't trust you. loretta you are like a daughter to me and i would be deeply hurt if you didn't come back with me to plan a line of attack...."

Well I can't very well leave Grace...*she nodded to the cub* Aslan, I'm sorry I doubted you, and I'll help, but I have a responsibility now, and that is Grace...and I can't leave her alone...

Grace jumped suddenly, hiding behind Loretta in fear though she calmed down when she realized who it was...she slowly peeked out at Aslan, listening to his words to Loretta....soft tears came to her eyes when he explained to her how much she meant to him....sighing she turned to leave knowing it wouldn't be long before she was alone again...without anyone there to reaasure her things would be alright...she new they wouldn't for how would she be able to survive on her own with no one to turn too or look after her?
though she stopped suddenly apun hearing Loretta tell the Great Lion that she wouldn't leave her...."you mean...you mean it..? your not going to leave me?" she said surpized looking from Aslan to Loretta..

*Loretta looked at Grace* I have always kept my promises. Always...I said it was you and me, and nothing is going to change that. I told you I would look out for you so you are just going to have to come help me keep the Kings and Queens of Narnia safe. *and that decided Loretta marched off leading the way to the tunnel*

Grace felt her heart leap within her, almost bounding after Loretta she followed her to the tunnel, walking close beside her, she glanced back at Aslan uneasily before looking up at Loretta, "...I don't know how I can ever thank you..." she smiled geniunly, soft tears glistening within her eyes, "......Loretta...if you don't mind me asking...what is Aslan really like?" she was confused, she wanted to know what the sqiurrel thought of Aslan now that he had explained himself to her.

Grace smiled, returning Lorettas nuzzle, it felt nice to finally have met a friend, laughing she followed Loretta as she dashed ahead, " oh where is he?" she asked curiosity in her tone.

Grace smiled, she had heard of the Kings and Queens of Narnia but had never had the chance of meeting them face to face, "you really think so...?" she asked, following closely.
