A New Challenge

"Finally!!" Edmund exclaimed, leaping to his feet, "I just hope wherever were going, we don't run into any more demons!! I think if I ever saw another one I would go completely insane!!"

"Darlin', I know Narnia like the back o' my own back as sure as I have three stripes, depends on which way ya'll want to be a goin'" she looked at all of them questioningly.

Peter shook Grace. "Grace, Grace....its time to wake up..."

"Oh, I thought you went insane the first time...my bad..." she joked. She gave him her sassy taunting look. "Well since you seem so excited to stand, I might as well pin you agin..."

"Well....uumm....where do we won't to go Peter?" Susan looked at him qiuzzcly.

Grace yawned gently, opening up her eyes to stare up at Peter, "Oh! I'm sorry.....I was having a bad dream.." she said softly, a slight tint of fear showing in her eyes.


Edmund stopped for a moment, "Nooooo!!! you are NOT pinning me again!!" he exclaimed, running to hide behind his brother, "ha! see now you can't pin me!" he stuck out his toung in a taunting manner.

"Oh Ed, grow up!" Peter exclaimed. He set Grace down. "I think we should go back to Cair..."

Mary Sue looked at Grace. "What was that bad dream bein' about darlin'?" she asked, stroking Grace's fur.

"Better watch out..." she taunted leaping into the trees. She then attacked him from the back, knocking him to the ground. "Gotcha!"

"aaahhh!!!!" Edmund exclaimed, finding himself once again pinnned to the ground, "I have a feeling the ground and I are going to become really good friends..." he glared at the ground.

Grace looked up at Mary Sue soft tears glimmering within her eyes, "It was about my mother..and how she was taken away..." she sniffed qiuetly.

She brushed herself off satisfied. "oh get up!" she exclaimed.

"Oh baby doll...I'm so sorry!" Mary Sue exclaimed. She stroked Grace comfortlingly.

"What if I don't want to..? what if I've actually learned to enjoy it down here? in fact I may never get up again!!!" he exclaimed humously stroking the ground, though he froze suddenly, hearing a wolf's ecioing howls throughout the forest, "Okay I changed my mind! me no likely the ground anymore!!" he quickly lept up and clung to Loretta.



feeling the chipmunks gentle strokes the young tiger cun began to feel better though she gasped suddenly her eyes lighting up with fear at the sound of the wolves ecoing howl, "it's the ones that killed my mother!! we've got to get out of here!" she exclaimed.
Susan turned to Peter in alarm, "Peter...how far is the caslte from here!?" she asked, turning her gaze apun Mary Sue for she remembered the chipmunk informing them that she new Narnia better then any of them..

"Shhhhhhhh..." Mary Sue warned the fearful Grace. "A good hour my darlin'..." Mary Sue informed Susan in a whisper.

hearing Mary Sue's words everyone froze.
Edmund held his breath, standing close to Loretta almost afraid to move,"I really don't like the looks of this place...okay Mary Sue where is Cair Paravel and can we make a run for it?" he whispered, fearfully, practicly hiding behind Loretta.
"Oh Ed stop being such a wimp! your the one whos sopposed to be protecting HER if any of them word to attack us!!" Susan whispered, giving him a glare though she turned hearing the voice of Mary Sue, "What do you mean?" she asked, confused.
Grace backed up behind Mary Sue into Peters leg, the vision of how the wolves and other evil creatures had taken away her mother played out in her head over and over again...looking strait ahead she could have sworn it was this vary same place...the howled ecoed throughout the woods sounding as if they were getting close..the tiger cub gapsed, clinging to the young Kings leg in fear. cold cruel voices could be heard off in a distance mising in with the howls...

"We won't make it, thats fer sure..." she commented. "Our only bet is the trees..." she looked up. "The very top branches is our only saftey." she nodded matter-of-factly. Peter scooped up Grace hoisting her up to the first branch, Mary Sue not far behind with Loretta helping others up. Loretta glared at everyone. "SHHHHHHHHHHH!" she exclaimed.
 
Grace grabbed the top brach, holding on with her claws, "Thanks Peter" she geve him a slight smile before clieming farther up the tree.
Susan made it up with Peter, Mary Sue and Lorettas help while Lucy's attention seemed to be on something todally diffrent for there off in a distant she caught a glimpse of Aslan emergeing from the bushes and started running towards him, "Aslan!!" she cried, joy lighting up her face.

Loretta raced after her, snagging her arm before she got to far away. "Lucy, if its Aslan, he'll come and greet us...but for now, we MUST get in the tree for saftey." Loretta ordered. She was not to be messed with right now, you either did what she said with free will or she'd make you.

Mary Sue quickly scrambed up after attempting to help Ed up.

"But--" she tried to protest but it was no use before she new it Loretta was dragging her up the tree. Lucy sighed finally just giving in and letting Lori help her up the tree, "I soppose your right.." she muttered under her breath, making her way farther up the tree.
Edmund finally made it up with Mary Sue's help, with some diffaulty he made it to the top with the others, he looked down noticing that wolves of all sorts seemed to be coming from all directions of the wood.
"Where are!?" they could hear the wolves shouting below, franticly trying to find them.

"For our sake...I'm glad their stupid..." Edmund said, gulping nervousely.
Lucy clung to PEter, tremling slighty in fear of the wolves down below who were still franticly searching for them, "PEter...I'm scared...what if they find us?"

"Can't climb darlin'" Mary Ann reassured her. "Don't you worry, Mary Ann knows these parts as sure as I have a tail...their won't be any dead royalty on my paws..." she nodded.

"I like the way she talks so truthful that the fact if the catch us we're dead..." Loretta smiled sarucastically at Ed.
 
Edmund shot Loretta a look, "haha....well if they did catch us I would atleast TRY to run away!"

"Ar-are you sure?" Lucy asked, still afraid of the wolves.
Grace was clinging to a branch for she still didn't feel it was her place to cling to any of the Pevensies since they were royalty.

"Positive!" Mary Ann soothed Lucy with her words and Grace with her paws. Peter held Lucy and Susan by his side.
 
"Yeah right.." Edmund retorted, sighing he clung to the branch as if it would disspapear the moment he let go, for he was afraid of hights and he didn't find the top of the tree too invitineg. "Since when do you start thinking positive anyways?"


Grace nuzzled Mary Ann glad to have her by her side and Lucy clung to Peter thought felt slightly beetter from the chipmunks reassurnce.

They must have stayed up in the trees the whole night before the wolves finally gave up and left, first remarking that they would be back with more enfoures to find the Pevensies and one even said something about Loretta but it was barly auidibel.

"Since tonight..." Loretta added.

"Lets get moving!" Mary Sue (oops its Sue not Ann :p ) said leaping to the ground starting toward Cair Paravel. The others followed quickly. They were running now to get as far from the wolves as possible.
