Okay, here's a little more, this is all I have written. What do you think?

How Racel wished she had been born an only child. Or if not an only child then at least the eldest daughter. If she had been either of these things she could marry whenever and whomever she pleased.

Marriages really wern't based on love. Certainly, Rachel knew of several couples who had grown to love each other, but marriage was more of a business transaction between two sets of parents. Rachel hoped if she were being forced to marry a man not of her choosing she would be able to convince her father to let her choose someone else.

Laban's youngest daughter had always been somewhat of his pet. Rachel always knew what to do or say to get what she wanted. She knew she could convince her father of anything.

"Rachel, RACHEL! Get down here!" a mother's voice bellowed from the kitchen.

Rachel grogily sat up and got dressed. "Yes, mother. I'm coming." She called down the stairs to her mother with a yawn. Her father, mother, and sister were already sitting around the small kitchen table as Rachel scurried down the stairs.

Laban smiled at his younger daughter "Good morning, sleepyhead."

"Good morning, Father." Rachel yawned again. "I'm guessing you want me to water the sheep as usual?" She inquired of her father.

"Yes, if you don't mind." Laban replied with a proud look at his beautiful daughter. "Now, let us say the blessing." he said as he bowed his head and began to pray.

After breakfast Rachel walked over to her father's pasture taking a deep breath of the outdoor air she loved so much.

Jacob glanced out the window. It was time for him to go, the sun was setting in a brilliant array of royal purple, deep blue, fiery red, and magnificant orange.

He walked out the door with one last glance at his boyhood home. His heart was heavy, knowing he might never see it or his mother ever again. As he turned looking towards Haran his mind slowly filled with hope like a small spark burning through his heart.

Here is some more.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jacob walked and walked. Wearieness began to take over his body. He knew he must rest in order to have strengthto walk to Haran the next day.
A rounded stone caught Jacob's eye; it would be suitable to rest his head on for the night. When he arrived at his uncle's house Jacob knew Laban would have a real pillow for him. This rock would have to suffice for now.
He laid down in the sand pulling his cloak tightly around his body. As he dozed off his mind was full of what might await him in Haran.
These things were pushed from his thought as a dream began to invade his tired mind. Jacob saw a ladder reaching up to heaven. The angels of God were going up and down the ladder dressed in splendid white robes.
The Lord stood at the very top of the ladder. He said to Jacob "I am the Lord. The God of your father Abraham and the God of Isaac. I will give you and your decendants the land on which you are lying."
Jacob stared in awe at all God was offering him. He knew his father had known this God, but Jacob had never realized the splendor, majesty, and power of his father's God before.
"Your decendants will be like the dust of the earth, and you will spread out to the west and to the east, to the north and to the south. All peoples on earth will be blessed through you and your offspring. I am with you and will watch over you whereever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave until I have done what I have promised you."
The rest of the night Jacob slept soundly. When he awoke the next morning he was so amazingly aware of the prescence of his father's God, his God. "How awesome is this God." he thought to himself. He decided to make an altar for this wonderful God, who had promised him so much. He glanced around and took the rock which he had slept on and set it up like a pillar. He poured oil on top of it. He decided to name the place Bethel, meaning house of God.
