A Thread For LOTR Collectors

By the way I recieved The Complete Recordings all three volumes yesterday! I have yet to open them however. :D

Ten discs is a bit intimidating. :D

I have successfully downloaded the TTT and ROTK Complete Recordings to my Xbox 360. :)

All that now remains is for me to download the FOTR CR. :)

I must say that I am simply astonished by how many tracks are included in each volume or recording! If you combine all three Complete Recordings you get well over 100 + tracks! I don't think I'll be able to listen to them all in one setting, unless of course I should get up really early and listen tell late at night. :D

I must confess I feel as if under a spell when listening to the LOTR Complete Recordings. When I listen to the music I find myself taken back to the Middle Earth and the events that transpired during The Third Age. I am captivated by the beauty and splendor of the Elven Psalms and I have listened many a time to Arwen's voice via The Houses of Healing Track. :D

I have to say this is a very interesting thread. All 45 pages of it which I have just finished reading. Although I do have to say it does make one want to go out and spend all there money on lotr items. Which is very strange in my case since I have yet to even finish reading the first book. :p

Hurry up or I'll lock you in the reader's closet :D

Well I have been enjoying the blissfulnnes of Howard Shore's Complete Recordings. I am trying to quite literally memorize The Houses of Healing (my favorite track by the way). I am just blown away by the sound qaulity and how just listening to the tracks you can be transported back to Middle Earth. :)

Ps, Though it not be directly LOTR related, I acquired some real wooden practice swords at Renassiance Faire yesterday! One of them is German Long Sword which features a extended hilt or handle. The other was Hand and Half Sword.

I of course sported my Kingdom of Heaven Sword at the Renassiance Faire. It was simply fantastic to be in a place with like hearted people. People that love ancient weaponry, folk lore, art, and everything to do with the Renassiance/Medieval time period. :)

Medieval Fairs always sound so cool but the one around where we are is apparently populated by scary people  ;)

Glamdring is third on my list of must have LOTR Sword Replicas. :D

Tis too bad.. our faire was not as thus.. it was full of kind and merry folk. :)

Such Faires are places to escape from this borish modern world and embrace a time when things were simpler and in my opinion more exciting. :)

Some day I will find a good one to go to, I remember the one year it was actually right on top of our Hobbit Party so some of our friends who had gone there already dressed up were all ready for the party :D
