After Return of the King

"I'm here!" Arla said rushing over.

The girl saw all that was going on. "Follow me. We can loose those orcs in my cavern." the girl said.

"Frodo!" Kasey exclaimed hugging him.

OOC: Sry I left...had to finish school.

OOC: It's fine, Sis. I've been taking quite a bit of breaks too. School has been really hectic lately.

Merry-

Taking a sigh of relief to finally be safe from the Orc's knife sharp arrows, Merry said to Easta,

"Your mother has some wonderful news for you, Easta. And she has given me the privilage to be the one to tell you...."

He paused, then continued,

"Lady Mar is with child."

Frodo-

Frodo smiled, holding her tightly in his arms. He was happy to have her close again. So many times he had felt, his life would come to an end, but somehow through it all he managed to survive,

"Oh my dear Kasey.."

He broke off, giving her a gently brush of a kiss.

She look at him then to her mother.
" Huh what do you mean daddy?,"She ask with a puzzle look on her face.

Mar took a breath or two.
' He means you be a big sister,"She told her.

Kasey hugged him tighter than she ever had before.

Frodo-

Arrows flew from every corner of the land but Frodo seemed to take no notice. He was with Kasey and that was all that mattered. He was oblivious to all else. Or atleast for now.

Merry-

Merry nodded as words gently spilled from Mar's lips,

"Yes, little Easta. This is a very joyful matter."

Kasey smiled.

"I guess you all would like to know my name." the elf girl said. "My name is Melodria. Most call me Melody though."

Merry-

Bowing his head respectfully to the newcomer, Merry replied,

"A pleasure it is to meet you, Lady Melodria."

Frodo-

Seeing that everyone else had escaped to the shelter of the caves, Frodo said to Kasey quietly,

"I suppose we should go and join the others."

He smiled. The Orc's arrows had still yet ceased to fire.

"I think that would be for the best." Kasey said.

"You as well." Melody said giving a slight curtsy.

Frodo-

Still holding a tight grasp on Kasey's soft hand, Frodo rose to his feet. Arrows swarmed from everywhere, one narrowly missing Frodo's chest.

Merry-

Merry gazed at Melody a moment, settling himself into a spot on the damp ground of the cave close to Arla,

"And how did you come to join us, Lady Melody?"

Arla was glad Merry wasn't mad with her.

" This'll answer your question." Melody said as Astia came out from the darkness.

"Well done Arla." Astia said.

Merry-

Merry gazed back at the enterance to the cave, only a small sliver of light stremed through the entry. Still no sign of Frodo or Kasey had reached Merry's view. He was a bit worried they had fallen in the attack. But all he could do now was wait.

Merry now looked up at Melody then replied,

"So you are a friend of Astia's?"

He smiled,

"Well.. I'm very glad you have joined our company, Melody. We shall need many, to defeat Verendiel."

"Thank you Astia." Arla answered with a slight tear in her eye.

"That I am. So you've met my evil twin, eh?" Melody said frowning.

"Sadly yes. Verendiel is my sister. I heard she's caused you a lot of trouble." Melody said.

Arla said nothing. She was deep in thought. She decided to talk to Mar and tell her that she was leaving after all this was over.

Merry-

Merry shuttered, now noticing a bit of resemblence to his torturer,

"I am very sorry, she is of your kin, Lady Melody."

Merry was quiet a moment, but soon a question appeared within his mind,

"Has Verendiel always been an Elf of evil? Or was she ever one of light?"

"She wasn't always evil. She used to be the best person you'd ever want to meet. The kindest person. I always kinda looked up to her. Untill her idea of right and wrong was blinded by the evil dark lord sauron. He had cast a spell on her to make her the way she is." Melody answered.

Arla sobbed a little at the though of never seeing Merry again.

Merry-

Merry continued to think deeply about Verendiel,

"But.. if the dark Lord was destroyed.. wouldn't the spell be broken? Or did his power upon her endure?"

Quietly Merry could hear the bitter sound of Arla sobbing to herself. Slowly turning toward her, he wiped a tear from her pale cheek,

"What's wrong, Arla? Why do you weep?"

"It's nothing. I'll be fine." Arla answered when she felt his soft touch.

"The spell remained. The only one that can break it is one she loves. I knew the one she cared for most but have never found..." she stopped looking at Kas who had rose from his seat.

"You mean me." he said folding his arms.

Merry thoughtfully gazed deeply into Arla's eyes, letting his hand rest close to hers at his side,

"If you need someone to talk to, Arla. I will be right here."

He smiled weakly at Arla a moment. Turning his attention to Kas and Melody, Merry said with a glimmer in his eyes,

"It's bring great joy to my heart to know all hope it not yet lost. There is still a way to bring Verendiel back to the light. But how are we to carry out such a plan as this? That is... if you plan to carry out such a plan at all."
