After Return of the King

Merry-

Merry thoughtfully gazed deeply into Arla's eyes, letting his hand rest close to hers at his side,

"If you need someone to talk to, Arla. I will be right here."

He smiled weakly at Arla a moment. Turning his attention to Kas and Melody, Merry said with a glimmer in his eyes,

"It's bring great joy to my heart to know all hope it not yet lost. There is still a way to bring Verendiel back to the light. But how are we to carry out such a plan as this? That is... if you plan to carry out such a plan at all."

"Thank you. I won't be here long though." Arla said. "But first I do have to work things out." She then turned her attention to her cousin.

"Once she sees him she'll go back to normal." Astia said folding her arms.

Melody stared at Kas a long time.

Merry-

Letting his eyes rest upon Arla alittle while longer, Merry questioned at a whisper,

"Why must you go, my lady? To where will you leave?"

"You know as well as I do why I must go. I'm not going to hurt anyone. I'm not sure where I'll go." Arla answered solemly.

Merry-

Merry looked down at the ground then up again at Arla, then said equally solemly,

"But Arla... you would also dearly sadden some with your departure."

He refered to himself, though he did not say this. Turning away he kept silent for quite some time.

"I know. If there was another way believe me I'd take it. But any other path is blind to me now." she said when Kasey and Frodo ran into the cave.

Bryan rose from his spot and sat next to his sister. He didn't want to sit inbetween Merry and her so he went on the other side of her.

Merry-

Merry shook his head sadly, once again turning his gaze upon the fair Elf,

"But... there must be another way, my lady."

He paused, then started again,

"Atleast come to Gondor with us when all of this dreadful buisness is over, Arla. I have no doubt Frodo and Kasey would wish for you to attend their wedding."

Frodo-

Still clutching Kasey's cold hand and never letting it go, Frodo took a seat oppisote Merry and Arla. Taking a deep breath, Frodo let his head rest against the cave wall. Softly shutting his eyes, he began to fall very tired.

"I shall. Maybe I'll remain there." Arla said trying to sound a bit hopeful.

Kasey sat down next to Frodo with relief.

Merry-

A faint trace of a smile slowly crept across Merry's weary face,

"I am gladdened by this, my lady."

His hand moved slightly closer to hers, yet a small distance was still kept.

Pippin-

Quietly eyeing the others, Pippin smiled to find his old pipe still held neatly in place under his cloak. Grasping the wooden splendor, Pippin found a small stash of pipeweed within his pocket. How could he have missed this? Hurriedly crumpling the leaves into his pipe, he took one long steady puff. Oh how sweet it was. Just alittle bit of home.

Arla gave a weak smile then glanced to see Mar and Easta then looked back at Merry with affectionate eyes. She laid her head on her brother's shoulder and fell into a deep sleep.

Merry-

Merry spent long watching Arla sleep peacefully, her long strands of hair shining in the pale moonlight. Not much after this, Merry found himself slowly nod off to sleep. Until he was oblivious to all else around him.

While in this deep sleep, Merry's head slowly laid to rest upon Arla's arm. And before long his hand fell upon hers, right where he had longed for it to be when awake.

Bryan watched as the two of them fell asleep then slowly he dozed.

Takia-

Takia was in a great deal of pain. The thought of death had crept in her mind.

Verendiel-

Gazing down at Takia who lay in a sea of chains, Verendiel said while raising her hand,

"Tolo hi Lor En Fuin!"

Which in the common tongue meant 'Come now dreams of darkness!'. Dark visions were now poured suddently upon Takia's mind and the pain was nearly unbearable for the tortured Elf.
