After Return of the King

She put her hand on his shoulder.
" Yes now breath," She told him.

Merry-

After Merry finally found the strengh to take in a few much needed deep breaths, he asked,

"Alright.. not that the shock has seemed to of lost it's grasp on me. I must know... why would Eastà's mother want me as her little girl's father? I have been nothing but unkind to Ethra, for these past few days. What trust does she have in me, with her very own daughter?"

Frodo-

Frodo straightened a bit,

"Indeed I shall.. when the time is right."

He then added after awhile,

"Do you know where Merry is right now, Arla?"

"Yes...He is talking to Mar in the middle of the woods. I disappeared before I was caught umm....giving him a.....kiss." She said blushing.

"Yes...He is talking to Mar in the middle of the woods. I disappeared before I was caught umm....giving him a.....kiss." She said blushing.

Frodo-

Frodo looked at her with a smile stuck on his face, a small laugh escaping his lips,

"You two shared a kiss, and you are still not sure he feels the same way, Arla?"

She laughed.
" Oh Now Merry she dose turst you with her dauther because she her every happy," She told him.

Frodo-

Frodo stood up, brushing off a few stray leaves that had clung to the saftey of his clothes,

"I shall go and look for him now, Arla. Unless you believe 'now' would be te wrong time for such things."

He then asked,

"Do you know what Mar and Merry are speaking about?"

Merry-

Merry looked at Mar for a few moments,

"And Ethra wanted you to come and tell this to me?"

He smiled, looking up at Eastà,

"Did you hear that, my dear girl? I am to be your guardian, your father and most importantly... your friend."

"I don't think it would be a bad time." Arla said.

"Frodo....please be careful." Kasey said hugging him.

Frodo-

Softly hugging Kasey back, Frodo stared closely into her concerned eyes, only a few inches away from each other,

"I shall try to stay out of harm's way as best I can, my dear Kasey."

He then muttered under his breath,

"Although it seems to always loom ahead in my path."

He sighed, not able to give her any true promises of safe return, knowing that was one promise that could truly never be made.. or atleast for him.
He now held her hand a moment in his, enjoying a moment of silence and closeness to each other. He then turned away abruptly, feeling a bit guilty for always having to keep his dear one worrying. Turning to look up at Arla he asked,

"My friend.. do you have any clue as to where Merry's where-abouts are in the forest? If I do not have a bit of direction, I'm afraid I shall be quite lost."

Merry-
Warming Eastà's little fingers in his, Merry nodded feeling as if the look of surprise would permantly stay across his face,

"Yes, my dear girl."

Realizing the joy of this moment, Merry now placed Eastà on the ground and began merrily swaying her in a simple dance across the forest floor, her long dress swaying around her with a quiet rushing sound,

"Oh Eastà.. this has ought to be one of the most wonderful moments in my life. I cannot wait to tell the others."

He turned looking in Mar's direction,

"I must thank you dearly, Mistress Mar. You have brought me such gladening news."

Mar smiled
" Any time Master Merry," She said then she was gone.

Eastà clap her hands.
" Th-then can I call you da..daddy?," She ask.

Frodo-

Frodo smiled, greatful for Kasey's eagerness to come along,

"I was hoping you would say that, Kasey."

Taking hold of her hand, he said a bit more quietly,

"I shall be very happy to have your company... more than you know."

He then began following Arla, still clinging tightly to Kasey's hand,

"Thank you very much, Arla... I mean for directing us... I could never of done it alone."

Merry-

Watching Mar disapear into the sea of colorful shrubs and trees, Merry was left alone in the forest with Eastà. He now smiled down at her,

"Yes indeed, my dear little friend. Oh! Wait! Or should I say my dear little daughter?"

He laughed, continuing to dance with Eastà at her now lively pace.

She clap her tiny hands together.
" Oh Daddy I want to tell Mommy," She said huging his leg.

Merry-

Smiling down at the girl, he urged her forward a bit with his hand,

"Then I believe we should be off to go and find her. Do you agree, Eastà?"

Frodo-

The slight warmth of her kiss stayed with him a few moments and he continued walked, a smile planted on his face. He then whispered back,

"As do I, Kasey."

Now realizing he had not yet replied to what Arla had said, he answered,

"Do not worry.. I shall do my best not to mention your help getting there or your nearness to us."

She nodded.
" Yes please," She said with a little giggle.

Erthà playing with her pipe.

Merry-

Quietly making their way through the hidden path, beneath the solem trees, Merry held onto Eastà's hand, making absolute sure not to let go. He would hate to lose her, on his first day of fatherhood,

"Quickly now... I am sure your mother is most anxious to see your reaction. And I'm sure she shall be overjoyed when she does." ,said Merry smiling and merrily laughing as they walked along.

Frodo-

Stumbling into the clearing of trees, Frodo scanned the grounds before him. Merry and Eastà were nowhere in sight. Turning to look back in the direction of trees from which he came, he called,

"Arla! They are no longer here!"
