Another director can either be a good thing or a bad thing. A diffrent director can either keep the flow of the series and prehapes do it better or he will cause it to crumble. I only hope Michael Apted is up to the challenge of taking on this huge franchise and that he realizes the responsibility he has to the fans, to make sure he does it right.
Agreed, but I think that is also going to be pretty subjective. Up till now the production value of the films has been incredible...it couldn't be done better by anyone I don't think. However, the script writing has been aweful to say the least. I think it will be interesting to see what Michael Apted does with the story. I wouldn't mind if he let a bit of the production value suffer if he got more of the story line right and actually grasped the spirit of all the characters he's working with. If that can't be done I have to say I wouldn't be crushed if the series would crumble. If the movies are going to be made I'd rather have them be done right or not at all and as far as the scripts go, the BBC series is kicking Disney/Walden's tail hands down. It's too beloved of a story to mess up and so far PC has given great cause for concern in that area.
