Anyone acquainted with singer Daniel Powter will understand my frustration over his being such a one-hit wonder. Even Men Without Hats managed to break out of "Safety Dance" by also recording "Pop Goes the World;" but it seemed like Daniel Powter would NEVER escape from being one-hitterish. This was all the worse because the video for "Had a Bad Day" TOLD A STORY: a story of a lonely man gradually discovering a lonely woman by careful stages. Both of them are pressured by their respective jobs; but the man, seeing hints of the woman's unhappiness, cautiously figures out a non- threatening way to HINT, sort of remotely, that he'd be glad to make her life better.

The very end of the video FINALLY brings them together, in such a way that she can be CERTAIN he isn't any kind of creep. Though artistically understated, the ending is as good as a notarized statement for the viewers' benefit that they are as good as married. Well, Mister Powter, SHOW US, goldarn it!

Enter the song-and-video I just discovered this very evening: "Celebrate the Holidays." In it, a family with children celebrates Christmas. The mother and father, faces clearly recognizable, UNMISTAKABLY ARE the same characters from "Had a Bad Day." Seeing them in a sequel was like Daniel Powter telling us, "There you go, I didn't leave them on Pause, they DO get to have a life together."

In recent months, Wood Nymph has prevailed on me to pay more attention to Taylor Swift. Not a hard sell, since Taylor is a _very_ likeable woman. We're happy for her, now that she has a good husband. By contrast, Beyonce, of whom I've known for a long time, gives us no cause to like anything about her. Notably, once Beyonce got her ego inflated enough, she ditched her singing partners in Destiny's Child; and by all report, members of "The Bey-Hive" encourage their leader's obnoxiousness.

Evening Star has been helping me to get drawings onto forum threads; this week, I'll be asking him to post a relevant pair of my pictures onto this thread.
 
Thanks for the Like, Hermoine. My above-mentioned artwork is in the mail to Nashville, for Evening Star to handle when he gets there. I can't phone-text imagery to him, because this would somehow expose him to malicious code. No joke, I have more experience with malware than I ever wanted to have.

So, _are_ you aware of the YouTube channel which is being set up for us in anticipation of Greta Gerwig's new 'Magician's Nephew" movie?" I plan to participate there also. Look to Specter for updates.
