Anyone like old movies?

I was wondering, does anyone here like old movies? I absolutely LOVE them, probably because I am being brought up on them; whenever I would go to my grandparent's house they would have tons of Abott and Costellos, Don Knotts, Humphrey Bogart and many, many other classics. I'm a huge freak of them, but I also love new movies. Anyone feel the same?

the old movies are sometimes the best. Some of them are not good, as always, but over 80% are excellent....a lot of kids, in my church at least, would have no idea as to who Doris Day is, Jerry Lewis, Dean Martin, etc......

I LOVE old movies.I didn't see a modern movie untill I was 13,so I grew up on oldies.I love 30s comedy,40s war movies and drama,50's westerns,and musicals,and a few other later movies.:)

Oh absolutely! I have several old movies and TV series in my video collection. One of my favorite old series is The Honeymooners with Jackie Gleason. Oh, how could I ever forget Ed Norton (Art Carney) sleepwalking in search of "Lulu! Oh Lulu!!" :D

I love the old movies. I have a lot of the Bob Hope/Bing Crosby films, Abbott and Costello, Jerry Lewis, the entire 14 film set of the Sherlock Holmes films starring Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce. I have numerous scifi and horror flicks from back then also.

I enjoy old TV shows, and I've been getting more interested in old movies.

I love The Wizard of Oz (of course, LOL), and I really want to see Casablanca and Singin in the Rain. I want to get them from the library soon. Are they good?

Can ya'll recommend some more that are good? Maybe something with Gene Kelly? I like musicals, but really anything that's good and clean.

oh my god! like yeah! the wizard of oz BEST MOVIE OF ALL TIME! willy wonka and the chocolate factory, marry poppins and old disney classics, of course. Total sickness.

I could recommend thousands of great old movies!!! Musicals first: Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Kiss Me Kate, The King and I, Music Man, Bye Bye Birdie, Singin' in the Rain (of course), Annie Get You Gun, My Fair Lady and Calamity Jane. There are many others that I can't think of too. For all other genres Casablana is EXCELLENT, I love the Thin Man series, It Happened One Night, Philadelphia Story, Bringing up Baby, Arsenic and Old Lace, Robin Hood, The Quiet Man, any John Wayne movies, Father Goose, It's a Wonderful Life, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, North by Northwest, Charade, Operation Petticoat, How to Steal a Million, Roman Holiday, Yours Mine and Ours, The Ghost and Mr. Chicken and any Abott and Costello movies. Shall I continue? Most of the ones I mentioned are pretty clean, maybe some jokes but that are actually quite funny. If you need any more recommendations I'm here to help!

Wow. =) Thank you so much! I'm going to the library in a few days, and now I've got a whole list of movies to check out, LOL. That list should keep me busy for a while. =) Thanks!

I like old movies... they're cool to watch... it's funny watching the enormous men sitting around smoking cigars :p

I've been dabbling in old movies a lot--I like Abbot and Costello, the Colgate Comedy Hour is HILARIOUS!, and lots of old musicals. Unfortunately people are making remakes to a lot of old movies, but they're all so crude and not near like the old ones. I wanted to get Cabaret once but the only one I could find was rated X

I know..I love the old movie Mr. Deeds Goes to Town, and they remade it and curse words in it!:(

A good film (though I said this one kind of creeped me out at part of it) was The Nutty Professor with Jerry Lewis....hilarious!

any Don Knotts (I say that...I don't know how many of his films are clean...though his old films are good), are funny.

I have a few favorite Westerns:

The Searchers (John Wayne)
McLintock! (John Wayne)
She Wore a Yellow Ribbon (John Wayne..notice a trend? lol)
Destry (Audie Murphy)
Guns of Fort Petticoat (Audie Murphy)
Calamity Jane (my favorite musical western. :D )

The oldest movie I watched was Charlie Chaplin xD And some of Mel Brooks films I don't know if they're old or anything but Young Frankenstein was SUPER funny :p I think they're old since they're black and white.. And some were silent.
