Archery

I have a longbow and I do archery on my own here in our yard (being from Archenland I am skilled at many of the arts of weaponry you all aspire to) we have eight acres and feilds all around us so my biggest problem is losing arrows not shooting them into something I shouldn't. :) and archery is easy just imagine a line going at an angle that is equal to the angle you percieve your arrow to be and set your target accordingly then adjust slightly for wind and distance and release. :) my short version of how to accurately shoot (sorry if I made it too complicated, and I love writing in Narnian style.)

I think Archery would be fun. Not easy, at least not at first, but fun. I could acctually try it because my neighbor in a secretservise person and he is always practicing in the yard. And he hunts.. I shoud ask him if I could try once. I think I would have good aim, because once I went shooting bb guns at my friends house and I hat all the targets the first time. Maybe Ishould take up archery... It could be fun!




I'VE JUST GOT A BOW TODAY

My little brother made himself and me make-shift bows! they are made out of string and bamboo. the arrow is a dowely, but i accidentally broke it (not my fault: he said: ok, i'm gonna shoot it by u and u have to block it w/ this stick, and i did, but it broke--the arrow)....
this is also mi first time ever doing archery, and i'm OK for a beginner (the first times i did it, i just dropped mi hand 2 mi side--mi brother is NOT a good teacher, he just was like "Ok, just hold it however, and don't bother me, i'm watching LotR", and then i finally caught on to the fact that i had to pull mi hand back to mi head after i let go!!! i've gotten the arrow about 5 feet from me so far (remember, it's really just a dowely, and it's not very good)
 
I went camping last weekend, and I did archery. It was kinda sad, cuz I was the only one out of about 20 people who actually hit the target, and I'm one of the younger ones, and I've never done archery before.
 
cool!! i'm literally about to go out and measure how far i can shoot w/ a bamboo bow and dowlies... ;)

I am so sorry to annoy you all but I measure distance in hundreds of yards not feet...

I do know how you all feel though, I only got a real bow last year. before that I used a piece of PVC pipe and that seemed to work fine but it could only shoot about one hundred yards. :) and... I used dowel rods (still do when I don't want to lose precious arrows :) )

I shot my first bird in flight today... sorry for all you animal lovers but it was a blackbird that I caught in the act of taring apart a robin's nest. :(

Well black birds are quite common, if it makes you feel better:eek: They are common where i am anyways, i have not killed an animal yet, i dont believe in shooting animals for fun i do agree with hunting animals for food, because some people need that to survive by hunting.
 
It's not me that needs to feel better Blackbirds are very common around here too. ;)

I don't just kill animals for fun but I count blackbirds and starlings as enemies after seeing what they do to songbirds nests. :mad:
