Aslan's How

Thilayn took a deep breath, "My village can be found ner the mountains bordering Archenland. The villagers depend on farming to help feed their children. The elderly couple who took me in when I was nought but a baby, had a small flock of sheep. Like Helena, my childhood friend and I would wander every morning with our flock to the favourable pastures on the mountain pass. We used to lie down idly in the soft grass, singing madrigals and braiding flowers, looking down at our sleepy village below. There were times when I thought evil could not possibly touch us."

"wow, that sounds like such a wonderful childhood. So much peace and love," Thanatos said with a smile and a quite voice.

" The joys of youth are unsurpassable truly. I wish mine had been as peaceful. Although mine was always happy there was never time to reflect on the beauty of youth. Tell me.." Rosy leaned forward a little and put a hand underneath her chin, " do you much about farming? This may be a strange question but perhaps your methods varied from what I have seen?"

"If you dont mind me interupting, i remember something of my past long ago. I was a small child, probably not even 5 years of age, and a mage came to our villiage. He was the first i had ever seen. I thought they were a work of fiction, for i had only heard of them in stories that my father told me. Well he was the first to visit out small town. I was the first to meet him. I showed him around, and as a reward he granted me a wish. Well of course as a small child you really dont think bout what you wish for. *laughs* I wished for a slice of pie. What a silly child i was. Out of all the things i could have had, a slice of pie, is what i wished for." Thanatos then pushed her hair behind her ears once again. "Well since that day he stay with my family and I for 5 more years to come. He tought me few things of magic, but nothing really special. BUt i do recall those were probably some of the happiest moments that i can remember." She then looked toward the ground and smiled, as if remembering that day as if it were the day before today.

"Ahhh..." Thilayn sighed, "the idleness of childhood. I confess that my knowledge of farming may perhaps be limited, but Rosy, but questions you have, I shall answer to the utmost of my ability. And Thanatos, what village were you from, for I have never seen anyone else throughout my travels that has such a unique heritage. Do not feel the need to answer if you feel pressed; it is only that I have never seen another with such dark hair."

as this talking went on, the forest surrounding Aslan's How was filled with a shape. This shape was sitting, listening, and waiting. This shape had many stories to tell, some with answers, but more with questions. The only sound this shape made was the THUMP THUMP of his heart. When the time came, he knew he would be revealed, but he knew tonight was not the time. He continued to sit, ready for the time that he would have to run, for he must not be discovered. He waited....waited...and listened

"I originally i was from a town known as Chimerra....this land has long been destroyed, and not known today in the Land of Narnia. I then moved to a small town, that had no name it was that small, off the rivers of Eve. I do not know if you of of this place as well, not many do," Thanatos said.

"Worry not Thilayn- my interest in farming is not one others tend to share, and i shall not be offended if you take your time to answer...not all hold the same fascination with it as I!"

*in other words- why did i put that!*

"Fascination with farming? That is certainly unusual! But soft, there is a strange shadow in the woods!" with that, Thilayn's hand wandered discreetly to the hilt her sword.

(ha! Holyboy! foiled your plans!)

(last time i tell u anything Ithilian!!! )

The shape noticed Thilayn was moving unexpectatly. The one they call Thiliayn was moving towards her sword, and the shape grew scared. He was sure the party at Aslan's How realized that he was there. "I shall make haste before they find me" he thought, "For surly the light of daybreak is already upon Narnia" He went as fast as he could, knowing they could not catch him as long as he refrained(sp?) from making any noice. He steped once, twice, thrice, snap! He steped on a twig, and he now knew that the party at Aslan's How knew where he was.

(he he! I wish I could do this to you in real life!)

Thilayn drew her sword, the silvery blade reflected gold in the crackling blaze of the fire. She took a thick branch from the nearby pile of wood and lit it from the flames. Radiantly, the torch glowed, illuminating the woman's coldly beautiful features. Calmly and slowly, like a nimble panther, she approached the noise. "Do not move and you shall not be harmed."

(I am so going to kill you tomorrow!! watch your step in gym! Mua ha ha ha ha *cough* ha!!!!!!)

The Shape decided to weigh his options. He could risk running and hope that he was faster then Thilayn and the other people around the camp fire, keep quiet and hope they won't find him, or surrender himself as a friend. He figured he could not run faster then Thilayn, since she caught up to The Shape faster then he could blink. Keeping quiet wouldn't work, since they already knew where he was. He knew his only option was to surrender himself as a friend. He raised his arms, and called “I am a friend” and he waited for an answer…

(PS if anyone would like to join in on this fabulous story, whether as a new or old character, please feel free to do so. God knows Ithillian is not the only person on this site who wants to chain me up and poke me with a stick all day!!! Or you can be nice to me *puts on puppy dog face* and let me wander free with you people Please don’t let Ithillian tell the story. She will be mean and cruel and poke me to death!!!)

Thanatos whistled after she heard the snap of the twig in the woods. "Mortis, come," she yelled. Mortis darted to Thanatos, and she reached for her scythe. She pulled it closed to her body, and was ready if there was an attack. "Mortis, fly overhead the woods. Be ready for anything," she said to her trusty steed. Mortis indeed was a great companion. Thanatos then followed beside Ithilien as she saw Mortis fly towards/above the woods.

(we don't have gym, we have health! loser!)

Thilayn approached the shadow warily. She heard a faint sinister thump within the darkness, not unlike the rhythm of a heart. Beside her, she felt Thanatos' presence, drawn and lethal.

The Shape was not sure if the people heard him, so he called out again "IAM A FRIEND!!" He was hoping for an answer soon, and he was starting to fear for his life.

Thilayn stopped and lowered her stance, yet she stil remained taut, suspicious. The shadow, hidden in deep in the distant tangle of the woods hardly seemed a friend. "Who wanders in the woods this late hour and spies upon our company?"

"I assure you all, i did not mean to spy on your company. My name is Hoaleal, and that is all I can tell you. I have vowed never to trust another person, creature, or anyhting else that is capable of speech again. I have no weapon in which to fight you. Let me approch the fire, if you can so trust me."

Gray stirred at the sound of the newcomer's voice. "Come out into the open," she said "You are welcome here if your words are true - we too mean you no harm."

Mortis landed behind the newcomer, and troted behind this Hoaleal. Thanatos looked at the newcomer as he walked closer to the company. She lowered her scyth, but had it ready just in case. "Why do you spy on our company if you mean no harm, speak swiftly," Thanatos said in a stern voice, but in a welcoming sort of way.

There was a moment's pause before this new stranger spoke, but it spoke with such fear that it disturbed the group, "I spy because of what has happened in the past. I wanted to be sure who one of your party was before I joined the group. For I was sure I had seen her before. I am sorry if I had frightened thou, but I just had to know."
