Astoria, A magical land one must find.

OOC: Okay, I'll let you know and PM you if you like.

IC: The raindrops became bigger and bigger and were coming down faster and faster. Even though the two of us had been running as fast as we could to get to the tavern without getting soaked, by the time we got there we were drenched. Water...Ick.

Cassia laughed and twirled in the rain. Finally they got to the tavern and she ran in, glad to be out of the cold. She shed her cloak and draped it over her arm. The bartender waved at her and she returned the wave. "Follow me." She led Laine down the hall and to her room. When they arrived she opened the door and walked in. First thing she did was drape her cloak over her desk chair and second, light more candles and tend to the fire. "So, you never answered me. What's your name?"

"Laina, Laina Aank." Laina replied looking out the window, her back turned to the stranger. Another flash of lightning and crack of thunder shook the sky. Making sure that her back was still to the girl's, she carefully pulled off her cloak and set it down next to the other one keeping her face towards the window. Then she picked up a towel and wrapped it around her head.

Feeling the suspicious eyes staring at her, she looked down at the wood floor and sighed. "Alright, since you've been kind enough to let me into your room and tell me your name," She said, slowly turning towards the girl, still staring at the floor.

OOC: I'll explain it in this post.

IC: She sighed a deep sigh, then looked up, revealing two scars on her right cheek and three on the other, one of which also crossed her eyelid. Her right eye was also scarred, but in a different way, it was half red, half blue. Then she pulled off the towel, Her hair was pure black, but instead of being human hair, it was silkier, much finer like well kept animal hair. She looked straight at the young girl, unsure of what the response was going to be.

OOC: We need to give the bad guy a name, just so we can refer to him...

IC: "When I first came here, I was attacked by a harpy." Laina said, "I fought back, but it didn't help, it only made the foul creature attack me harder. That's how I got the scratches." She continued, thunder rolling in the skies. "The only way I was able to escape was by my jumping onto the back of the harpy, it managed to get me off though, and before flying off, it bit me, infusing it's DNA with mine. That's how I ended up with the agility, claws and fur-like hair." She said, finishing the sad tale of her past.

"Hm..." Cassia thought a moment. "I think I may be able to help you." She jumped out of her chair, almost knocking it over, and ran her finger over the titles of the books on the shelf. "Ah, here," she mumbled, pulling a green bound book with gold runes off the shelf. She flipped through the pages. Her finger quietly ran over the pages as she searched.

"What are you doing?" Laina asked, turning to look at here. Another bolt of lightning pierced the sky, followed by a long roll of thunder.

OOC: I'm leaving for a week long trip today. I may have internet access, but I don't know. Please pray that we have safe passage on our journey.

ooc: Will do... :D:D

ic: "I think I can help you with those... If you want of course," Cassia said, not even looking up from the book. A smile slowly spread across her face. "Ah ha! I found it." She slamed the open book down on her desk.
