"One day. Our anniversary. Can you not at least try in this relationship?" she demanded. "Sometimes I think you'd rather be at work than spend time with us! Your family!"

ooc: what's the dad's name?

Brin sighed and got up off the floor opening the door to let her little sister in, "come on." she said as she walked over to her bed

"I do try...I try harder than you think but why would I want to be here when I'm treated like this? you twll me that?" Lyel was still yelling as he slammed his fist down on the table

Mara pulled the blanket tighter around her and hurried in. "Why can the get along?" She whispered as she came in.

"Maybe you should be around more! Lyle, you don't even know your girls, do you?" she demanded. "You wouldn't be treated like this if we saw you more than once every month! You're practically a stranger to us!"

Brin shook her head as she held out her arms to her sister, "I don't know."

"Oh please...saying I don't know my own daughters is so meladramatic, Lisa! I know them and like I said the reason I am gone so much is to give you the life yoiu wanted, Dang it!"

Brin jumped as she heard something break...probably the fruit bowl again.

"I'd rather have you, Lyle! I'd rather have you than this life!" she replied. "Don't throw things, it's NOT going to help!" she added, a touch of desperation in her voice.

Gaby gently rocked back and forth holding Mara as closly as she could, "It will be over soon."

"you knwo what Lisa...you are...I ahve had enough!" he yelled, "I do not deserve this so I'll be back in the morning to get my stuff." he said

She could ear the front door open then slam shut and the engine to her dad's BMW rev to life the peel out of the driveway, "It's over." she whispered

"Lyle!" Lisa screamed out the door before he drove away. When he was out of sight, she slammed the door and stomped into the kitchen to clean up the broken glass he'd left behind.

Lisa picked up the biggest piece of glass and accidently cut herself. She swore loudly and dropped the glass.

"What?" Lisa said, looking up. "Brin," she said, wiping her face with her non bleeding hand. "What are you doing up, honey?" she asked, trying to smile.

"Oh," Lisa's face fell a little. "I'm sorry you had to hear that, baby." Lisa sniffed. "Mommy and Daddy were just having a little discussion..." she said, shaking her head.

"Mom, I'm sisxteen...I know what's going on," she bent over to pic up the glas that she could, "Mara on the other hand...you may still be able to convince her otherwise."

"Don't touch it honey, you might cut yourself." she said. "Could you go get the broom?" she asked, sitting on one of the kitchen chairs. Mara.... it was too easy to forget how young she was, and how loud they were yelling. Her bleeding hand lay on the table, palm up and her other hand held her head up, holding her short brown hair out of her face.
