"Great," Mark said to Victoria, temporarily allowing his anger to abate. "You can stay here then. Have your own little adventure around the house. Just don't be surprised if you find yourself suddenly dangling from the northwest tower."

He motioned for the girls to follow him and started back up the stairs.

ic: Mark was halfway up the staircase when he heard a soft plod of footsteps ahead. He immediately allowed the power to incinerate a silver blue light at the end of his fingertips, which ate through the darkness ahead, casting disproportionate shadows into the foyer.

No one was there.

"Hello?" Mark called.

"You should watch your back Mark, because you never know when a spirit will jump out and scare you half to death, and you know what happens when you get scared half to death twice."

Lily held her breath, knowing that Mark had heard her. She backed up against the wall and closed her eyes shut. Please, please, don't see me, she thought. Suddenly she felt as if an ice cube had been dropped down the back of her shirt. Opening her eyes wide at the sensation, she looked down at her body to discover...

It wasn't there.

She'd turned herself invisible!

Deep down, Eden was very jealous. She wished she could find her power.
