Did you used to play Dungeons and Dragons?

I certainly used to and I read somewhere here at Narnia Fans that Copperfox used as well. I used to play 1st Edition AD&D which had devils and demons as monsters. If I am not mistaken it was some Christian factions which objected to that and D&D complied and removed the devils in subsequent editions. Talk about over reacting. D&D is a game and there is nothing quite so satisfying as having your Paladin fight some devils!

Honza, you are on target. \\ In case you're not caught up on the news, I who bear the name of Mister Eclectic AM THE SAME PERSON as Copperfox. I conceived the dual identity so that the new identity could take on a special aspect of writing. As Mister Eclectic, I've begun writing stories narrated in first person; not all Eclectic stories will necessarily be first person, but NO story by C'fox will be first person.

In my true identity-from-birth as Joseph Richard Ravitts (long A in surname), I took up D&D as a young man, starting at a bookshop, and swordsman Copperfox was my principal player-character name. All of us understood that there had to BE villains or there'd be no story for us; but DEPICTING evil beings didn't mean WORSHIPING them.

I wish you the best of success on that. The only reason why I _won't_ join it is because I _can't_ join it. I simply have no time to spare from real-world obligations.

I can, at least, ask this question: would the campaign take place within a setting of the _canonical_ books, or would you use an expanded universe, as exemplified by Evening Star's Byron-on-Wells stories and my own "Southward the Tigers"?

The story is set within the canon books with an expanded universe. The players get to make their own character or select one that already exists. It would not be time consuming at all, can be played completely at our own pace just as we are posting now.

I would seriously consider it, except that Wood Nymph, who in real life is my ward, needs me to invest time in addressing her assorted, time-urgent needs.
