Pippin quickly become one of my favorite characters in the movies, and then he SANG! HOLY WOW! That dude has some pipes! Awesome stuff!
I know! He has a great voice. I completely didn't expect it, and when he started that song (such a pretty song, too) it was just flooring.

I voted for Faramir. I (guiltily) have not read him in the books, but I really admired his character in the movie. "If I come back... think better of me, father." It was touching how he could go on so nobly when his father was so awful to him. And he resisted the temptation of this ring, which gives him points in my book.

And, y'know, he's pretty easy on the eyes, too.

Of course billy boyd has a great voice, did a bit of broadway acting if im not mistaken. And that just boots why hes such a pimp.

Faramir was very different in "The Two Towers". But I did notice one thing after I saw the movie and that was that Faramir wasn't changed so much that they couldn't give him all of his RotK lines and it would make sense. Come to think of it, I can't think of any significant lines from the RotK film that weren't in the book.

I think Faramir is great - especially in the books, it was a choice between him and old Aragorn to be honest.
I have to a agree with those who are not the biggest Frodo fans - he winds me up so much! Get a grip boy! The other Hobbits are ok, although Sam needs to be less subservient.

I've been reading stuff about that find all day. I'm not quite sure what to think of it. Since I don't believe in evolution, and I think dating methods are off, I don't know how old they would be. So who knows. Sure there could have been a race of tiny people. It's would be cool.

The link didn't work for me. :(

But from Jenny's post I'm guessing it was about the 'Hobbits' found in Indonesia? I too, do not believe in evolution, but it certainly is neat that there were at one point a race of little people. I thought some of anthropologists' assumptions were a bit out there though, as they found the remains of an elephant nearby, and are now saying that the three foot tall people hunted elephant as their main source of protein. That would be interesting to watch! (now the question is did they eat 'elephants', or 'oliphants?' )

Dead Rain, they've found the bones of three foot tall people somewhere around Indonesia. Unlike those today who have birth defects, it is beleived that this was the actual size of the people, and they're being called the 'Hobbits.' It is speculated, though not confirmed, that there still may be some of them alive today.

Well, we've had small people for a long time. And tall people for that matter. The common people of Great Britain were a little over 5' tall. And many of the Hawaiians were well over 6'.

The Picti were about 4'6"-5', so yea, they were pretty small.

And then there's that one huge guy, he was like, 9'. Can't remember.....oh! duh! Did anyone think about Goliath on this site!

That's kinda pitiful. Oh, the problem with rosy's link is that it starts with "http://http://" which isn't valid, so just remove that first http://, and hit enter after you click on her link.

OK, I just finished reading the article, so I'm gonna commit homeowrk suicide and add another post on the subject of the "Hobbit people"

"We don't know this. But if there were Komodo dragons about you might want to be up in the trees with your babies where it's safe. It's something for future research, but the fact they had long arms is at least suggestive," Professor Stringer told BBC News Online.
What kind of BS is this???? Even I know that Komodo dragons sometimes climb trees! WTC! That's ridiculous.

Phew. I only started to tie the proverbial noose in the homework suicide saga. "And now for more homework, we go to Robert, in his room...

"Robert, what can you tell us about your homework load?"

"Well Dan, I'd have to say that this is a load beyond the memory of even the most seasoned LCA-er. If this load finds students unawares, its sheer magnitude could very well crush us, grind us into tiny pieces, and blast us into oblivion."

"That sounds rather dangerous."

"Yes, so I'd better leave to attempt and divert the energy of this blast onto some unsuspecting tourist."

"And that was Robert, reporting on the enermous homework load which has been spotted moving towards his location as of Friday afternoon."
