Looks like a lot of hobbit fans are around... I myself am rather an Elf fan and my all-time favourites are Lúthien and Arwen. Actually, there are many characters I like and it's really hard to choose just one. To name some others: Aragorn, Éomer, Éowyn, Faramir, Melian...I'd better leave now before I bore you to death.

Don't worry, Mrs Gil-Galad Took, Pippin is safe! Most of the times he's sensible (and funny...), but sometimes he does terribly stupid things. But then again, he saved Faramir's life and I'm glad he joined the Fellowship.
Nonetheless, I don't feel sorry for him when Gandalf calls him a "fool of a Took" (please don't get at me for this...).

Pip was a fool yes. But don't forget according to the hobbit standards he was only a child and not mature yet. Pip was 29 years old while Hobbits reach adulthood at 33. Pip was a bit too much sometimes But Pip never threw a whole skeleton in this well. In the books it was only a stone. And neither did Pip throw rocks in the water at the door of Moria. Boromir was the one who did this in the books. So my Pip is way more innocent than you all thought! I'm going to bring you to court.....The Took court!
