Hath thou heard The Extended Editions of the LOTR Trilogy is soon to be released on Bluray? :)

It is very expensive but these movies are the best ever made and especially on blue ray :) I think I am going to ask this as my birthday present from my family :D

We preordered it already I actually think it is a farely good price for 3 Blu-ray DVD's especially since it is LOTR, a popular book series made into three popular movies. :) I want to say that I got the plain DVD's for more than that over all. And with Amazon if the price fluxuates at all, we will get the lowest price!

And everything he created. I mean he worked 4 years on it. And he made his name. I also think he gave depth to many characters. What he did to Aragorn was simply amazing

Aragorn or Elessar wast indeed potrayed brillantly by Viggo. However, I have mixed feelings about his change of character. In books he is assertive and is actually attempting to return ot Gondor and take his birthright, in the films he is avoiding his calling. I prefer the books Aragorn, for he is more inspiring. However, the film Aragorn is easier to relate to. So many of us are frightened by our destiny, especially when it carries with it a hefty weight of responsibility.

Oh yes I definitely love all books characters more. Only the Movie Pippin is a bit more nice than he was in the books. Many main characters in the movies were reluctant to fight a bit while in the books they held their swords and were ready to die rather than run away.

Queen Willa, in euro's it is much more expensive than in dollars. I'm afraid the blue ray EE's will be around 120 euros

A astoot observation Nessa, the characters were more valorious and courgious in the books in contrast the films. Frodo in particular. Balin's Tomb is so polar opposite in the books, Frodo is the first to engage the Troll stabbing it in the foot. While in film he prepares himself to be skewered by the Cave Troll. XD

Yes and also the part when he rides Glorfindel's horse after he was stabbed. He was able to talk and even to be ready to fight. In the movie he was almost unconcious and didn't fight at all. Books Frodo was more brave and more determined to get things done :)

Another great example Nessa. I also think of how Frodo knew full well Gollum's schemes to turn him against Sam, while in films he's oblivious and under trance.

Exactly Elessar ;) And in the books Frodo knew he couldn't trust Gollum. he told Sam he didn't trust Gollum but had no other choice because Gollum knew the way to get into Mordor. And in the boooks Sam and Frodo both entered Shelob's Lair

The drama in films was absolutely unecessary. Frodo trusted Sam implicably, and thus it was folly to depict mistrust.

So many movie writers think that you CAN'T have a drama UNLESS there is conflict among the good guys themselves. More damage in this direction was done to the Caspian movie than to "Return of the King;" but the chasing-Sam-away part WAS extremely annoying and utterly unnecessary. It was one of those "improvements" which AREN'T improvements.

That's okay Mrs Reep ;) I'm more a Ringer than a Narnian but I do love the world of Narnia too. They are on second place :D

I agree. the Sam being chased away part was uncalled for. It didn't make sense because it only showed how evil Gollum was portrayed in the movies. Gollum was of course not to be trusted but he was consumed by the Ring and it drove him mad. I completely understand why Bilbo, Frodo and also Sam (later at Mount Doom) pity him

Merry and Pippin are my favorite hobbits but I honestly have to say one of the best characters of LOTR is Gollum.

I voted for Aragorn, though me other favorite is Faramir, with Boromir and the others of the fellowship at a close second. But mainly Aragorn and Faramir I love them, especially in the book. :) I used to not like Boromir, but As I read the books and watched the movies again, I loved him more and more. His character is amazing., :) and then of course the Hobbits, Eowyn, Arwen, Eomer, Gandalf... All so amazing!
