Favorite Scene From The Lotr Movies

When Haldir dies, (The 2 towers) it's so real and sad. And where Pippin is singing and where Legolas skateboards, sorry sheildboards down the stairs at Helms deep, and Borrimir dying is great to.

oh yeah, that was an AWSOME scene! i really like the scene in the Extended Edition of RotK when Legolas and Gimli get into a drinking contes...that was great!

Welcome Eowyn!! Its great to see you round here! If you want to, you can tell us a bit about yourself in the intro thread. Hope to see ya round here more often! :)

Every one talks about the extended version, and I feel like the only one who hasn't seen it. *SNIFF* What are the extended bits?

mmmmmm what are the extended bits, well if u can spare the 120 bucks they have brought out a trilogy of the SEE's so yeah, i wouldnt just get them for the extended bits of the film the special features are so good, like you really feel closer to the production of the film after that and i think i really appreciate the film more.

your video store might have them aswell, but i really suggest u buy them :)

ha forgot to say my fav scene, im a chop

id have to say mine would def be when boromir dies and frodo and sam run away. id never even heard of lord of the rings before i saw that film, so id just sat through 2 and a half hours of this cinema spectacular and i loved every minute and then with the death of boromir and the breaking of the fellowship music with sam and frodo in the boat, i was a really moving peice of cinema, one i wont forget im sure. :)

Although (like most everyone here) I have several favorite scenes in the movies that I enjoy, I think the tragic scene between Denethor and Faramir in the extended ROTK is one of my favorites (there is a dialogue between them concerning Faramir's choice to let the Ring go and Denethor suddenly sees Boromir in the distance). That was powerful (and tragic).

I love when Gandalf shouts "You shall not pass" but I don't think the Belrog should have had horns. I also love it whan Gandalf leads the charge down the hill and the light and dark armies crash like waves at the battle of helms deep.

i love the every part of the movie too!!!!!!!! :D
I don't like the part where Aragorn and Arwen are being all sentimental. I thought it was great in the book where we found out at the end and said, "What the heck! Oh well."

I enjoyed the love scenes between Aragorn and Arwen in the movie, although I don't think it was as chivalrous a love as Tolkien may have envisioned it. At any rate, you get the entire story of their meeting in the Appendices at the end of ROTK; it tells of their meeting and - eventually - their parting. What a beautiful (and tragic) tale.

I really liked those parts too, but favorite part was in ROTK with like the big elephant looking things i can't remember there names anyway i really liked that battle scene with them in it :D

That was such a hard battle scene to follow - ROTK had me in tears, and still touches me deeply. Those were called (apparently in the tongue of the Men of Harad) mûmakil.
