Favorite Scene From The Lotr Movies

I enjoy the whole of the movies as well!!! I think Mumakil is the Elven name for them.....(the Oliphants) one of my fave scenes is Helm's Deep-the deeping wall, er, before the mine explodes and the elves get whooped :p . When Gimli and legolas start their counting match again! "What!! I'll have no pointy-ear outscoring me!" He says this among the elves....hehe. :D

I just love the part where the Rohan riders come down in ROTK and trample all of the orcs. I also love the part where Awen kills that one wrath(sp?) guy! Die steriotypes!!!

Éowyn, its Éowyn, who kills the Witchking, not Arwen. Arwen was sitting home in Rivendell waiting for Aragorn to gain her father's blessing *coughthethronecough*

Yay for fey, fair women! (Éowyn was insane)
"Éowyn I am, Eomund's daughter. You stand between me and my lord and kin. Begone, if you be not deathless! For living or dark undead, I will smite you, if you touch him."

(They should have put that in the movie)

i love the part at the end of FOTR, with Sam and Frodo in the boat!

"im going to mordor alone."
"of course you are. and im coming with you!"

its So sweet, and i cry every time.

Whoops, sorry, its been a while since I saw it, and there is an Awen in there, I was hoping I got it right, guess not :o . Yeah they should have put that quote in the movie:)

the battle scenes defintely !!
oh and also the FOTR when they had a party in Hobbiton. that was pretty cool. And when they first arrived at Rivendell. that place is soo pretty i wanna live there ! hehe !!

that scene made me so frustrated, they showed a clip so short and pointless that they might as well not have put it in. If you're going to include the scene at least show some real dialogue. I mean Faramir wooing Eowyn dialogue, book dialogue. *excuses self* I'm a purist. Or the healing of Faramir and Merry at least. They filmed it you know.

I didn't know they filmed that part.....there were parts of the movies i didn't like being so far from the book(like the lack of the scourging of the shire), but overall i think they did very well! I also enjoyed Lothlorien... :D AND WHEN THE ENTS STORMED ISENGARD AND MERRY AND PIPPIN BONKED ORCS W/ ROCKS! :D

This may sound lame but, my favorite scene is from Return of the King, is at the end when Frodo and Bilbo are in the carriage journeying to sea, where the ship is waiting for them to go to the west,to the Gray Heavens. Bilbo asks if he can see his ring one last time and Frodo tells him he lost it. Bilbo is all like pity,I wish I could hold it one last time. I like that scene because now that the one ring is destroyed, Bilbo and Frodo can finally have peace.

Hmm... i think my fave scene was...oh dang it had to be anything that Legolas was in! psssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhh...Orlando Bloom is soooooooooooooooo...you get the idea :)

in fotr: the mirror, the nazgul/ringwraiths in the shire, moria, and the bridge/evenstar scene. the mirror of galadriel because galadriel is so scary in it and it looks so cool! lol.the bridge/evenstar scene since it's so romantic and sweet...the nazgul/ringwraith scene because they are so terrifying! and moria because of the balrog and when gandald says: all you have to decide is what to do with the time given to you..
in ttt: the funeral of theodred (it's in the exteneded version), the simbelmyne on the burial grounds, and when sam says "it's like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo."
the funeral because eowyn sings good and because it's so sad..the simbelmyne on the burial grounds for the same reasons as theodreds funeral and nd when sam says "it's like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo." because it is bittersweet. it shows hope and courage...
in rotk: the grey havens scene. because it makes me cry...lol.
most of the scenes i like because they are sad...

yeah I watched the scene where haldir dies over and over when i got the DVDs. I got so mad that jackson killed him off. It wasn't followingtthe book at all.

In FOTR: The end, because everyone is off to do impossible tasks to save the world, but they're going to hunt orc because they know that even if they wish that none of it had happened, that they hadn't gotten into theses situations, all they can do now is do what's right, "all they have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to them" as Gandalf says. I also like when Boromir takes down like sixteen orcs after getting shot three times. That part is so sad, and so inspiring. Also, I still love Aragorn's first scene with Frodo. It was the first time I'd heard him properly, not in a spliced together version for a commercial, and his voice was so different from what I'd expected, and a lot lot better than any other Aragorn I'd seen that it made me love him, and the scene.

In TTT: Sam's speech at the end, and Aragorn's "Ride out with me" I also like Merry's speech to the ents, when they tell him that "This is not our war" and he says "But your part of this world! You have to help!" It really reminds me of current events, and how we shoudl have the courage to help others if it's the right thing to do, even if it's not technically "Our war."

In ROTK: When the Rohhirrim come to Gondor. They see that thier friends are in huge trouble, and most likely a lot of them are dead, but they know what they have to do, what is right to do, and what they can do to save future generations. It's an incredible act of love and heroism, and even hope to shout "death!" before they let evil win. They realize that too late is not worse than never,(To quote Merry in the book) and they may not be too late. I also adore the part where Arwen turns back from the Grey Havens, she stops not because of her undying love for Aragorn, not because she wants to help save Middle Earth, though these are all part of it, but what tips the scale overwhelmingly is the possiblity that she will have a child. She gives up her immortality irrevocably not only for Aragorn, but because she wants to stay and have her child. She considers that unborn, unconcieved life so precious that she gives up her own for it. That is such a powerful, powerful message to our world today. Also, I cry through the last ten minutes of the movie, so that's also my favorite part.

P.S. I may think Mr. Tumnus has nice eyes, and Peter is very handsome, but I also have Aragorn, Legolas and ring letters bracelets on my arm, so that's where my true loyalties lie. :)
