Well, I am currently doing some landscaping (mostly building walls, decks, fences etc.) through private contracts. The pay is great, but the work gets a little tedious (especially retaining walls, eh Lu ;)?).

I gots a summer job working at a family-owned print place is Roswell, GA. It's pretty cool. In the afternoons/weekends/any free time, I dabble in independent film. (I just got back from a festival with some work shown that I helped in. veery fun stuff)
 
during the skool year i am on call for a job @ the skool for people who rent out the theatre. i mostly do ushering right now, but later on, ill be doing the lights, sounds, ect.

during the summer my uncle rents a place @ harbolurfront to sell food for his resturant he hopes to get up and running by this year. I rotate from selling food to serving the food.
 
I don't have a job but I'd just like to ask...do all (or at least most) of you know each other personally? It just seems like you are all related! I only know holyboy, but he doesn't really count.
 
New question ... I am tired of all of you having exciting summer time jobs and activities ...

What was your WORST summer time job, vacation, activity or the worst time you ever had on a trip or vacation?
 
A summer holiday in France about 15years ago- one side of the campsite caught fire, the other got flooded and i got sunstroke- brilliant!

h, and worse job was..moving furniture in the heat of summer..ot chopping up raw fish at the Sea Life centre- but i got used to that and the job ruled too

Ithilien, I do not know anyone on here personally, aside for A_S_P, but she's been gone for a loooooooong time(on the forum, anyhow).

I guess it's cuz so many of us have known each other for so long that we seem to actually "know" each other. Pretty cool when ya think about!

Worst job/vacation....

I dunno--I liked/like my job at Sonic cuz of the other employees, so I didn't mind the actual work, but now, without them there, I'm hesitant to return to Sonic.

Vacation--can't really think of a "worst" one--Christmas two years ago was kinda sad, cuz I'd rather have been with my friends.

New, less depressing (lol!) Q:
What is your opinion on filibustering(sp?)(hopefully Euphrates will show up & give us his opinion, cuz he's probably studied this quite a bit)?
 
Aha, the joys of filibustering! (I did politics at college, i remember the joys), or as it's know amoung my chums as 'banging on and on@, or just rambling *&&£$"^ (insert word of choice there)- I think it's fine in day to day politics,and is indeed a part of democratic behaviour, however, those who are active within politics should know when to get down to the real business - that marks the men from the rambling boys!

THANKS......DON'T I FEEL SPECIAL!!!!!!OH, YOU ARE SOOOOOOOOO NOT IN MY GOOD BOOKS RIGHT NOW!!!!!! I BUG YOU WHEN IM SUPPOST TO BE IN REHEARSAL FOR A SHOW THAT IS THURS WITH A PERSON WHO IS A MS HICKY CLONE AND THIS IS WHAT I GET???

(for those of you who have noooooooo idea what i am talking about, we are in an arts school, and we are under force to go to rehearsals whenever our teachers feel like it. We have rehearsals starting at 1:30, until someimes 7:00. Ms Hicky is in charge of the school, because she can walk into any classroom and tell them to shut up and THEY WILL, and if they don't, she will personally dock marks off your final grade. By the way, she's only a strings teacher)
 
Right now the fillibustering has reached critical mass in the USA. No matter what we think of W, no president should have been forced to sit out two terms with so few of his judicial appointments ever even coming to the floor for debate -- it's disgraceful.

A little back story to my previous post

Sorry, short-sighted Americanism: W has made many judicial appointments in his term, but the Senate has refused to debate and vote on their placements (filibustering them) so that none have been able to take the bench. Usually, a president's appointments are approved as a courtesy as long as they are not questionable jurists. This has not happened for W. If you don't like his judge choices (strict Constitutionalists), the filibuster is a good thing, if you do like his choices, the filibuster is a bad thing.
 
I know, I hate it when our President tries to act in favor of the 200 year-old document that our nation was formed around! And it really ticks me off when he acctually acts with integrity and honor!

(In case anybody here didn't get it from the above post, I am against the fillibuster and for Bush)
 
I think we should pick this up again - it was good for getting to know people!

That depends. Are we talking about an alcoholic drink or a non-alcoholic drink?
as for the first, that would be a 20-year old, single mault scotch, on the rocks (however, I am not a big drinker, in fact I don't think I have ever even had a buzz). As for the latter, Diet Pepsi.

Coke. I have an addiction. I have tried to get off it, but it doesn't work. I blame that for my constant ramblings
