Harry Potter Book 7 *Contains Spoilers*

I have never discussed anything about the Harry Potter books at school--I guess the teachers don't want to offend or anger any of the parents who don't want their kids reading them...

And what you say is very logical, especially drawing from what Dumbledore and Voldemort have said. I've noticed based on the other books that JK Rowling uses quotes from the characters as a little foreshadowing tool a lot.
So do you think that because Snape killed Dumbledore, Voldemort will automatically trust him? Even though Dumbledore is the only one Voldemort is afraid of, even he must have some suspicion that is could have been planned.

Who was Voldemort most afraid of, Dumbldore. So we know the one who kills him will be high up in the circle of trust. Could be revered in almost a friendship level with Voldemort. Snape wont kill Voldemort, only help harry.

so you are saying that Voldemort will be so fast to admit Snape into his deepest circle of trust because he killed the most powerful wizard on the "other side" that he wouldnt think he was being played?
I dont know if I would consider Voldemort that stupid- after all, he is an extremely intelligent wizard and knows when people are lying to him. I doubt Snape is such a good occlumens that Voldemort couldn't find out that snape was still good. Of course, this is all hypothetical because we don't even know for sure that Snape IS good- for all we know he could truly be Voldemort's servant...

Yes that is what I really believe. What you said latter is what JK wants you to think!

I like this discussion. I find it all very refreshing because I love to talk about the books I have read.

Back to the subject... What if Snape doesn't know who he can trust or even what "side" he wants to be on?

Queen Rocco, you dont know that.

You dont know RAB is Regulus Black.

You dont know that that locket is the same one.

You dont know that Harry will kill Snape. If you have ever even been to mugglenet, you would read the editorials. Dumbledore could have asked Snape to fake it to kill him.

Stop assuming things you dont know.

She doesnt.
ok i dont now that but its a fact fiction and i got a sixth sense for HP lol BUT it is true the book is not coming out till end of the year to next year AND its not as long as HP+TOOTP

Yeah, I dont think he is like that though. He is still in the service of Dumbldore. In fact i think that Dumbldore pleaded for his life to be taken by a friend.

Do you think that Snape will ALWAYS have that grudge on Potter?

I think so  because his hatred only seems to grow every year...
Besides after learning about James Potter's and Snape's past history at Hogwarts, I see why Snape might hate the Potters with a passion- and honestly he had a pretty darn good reason, if James was really like that, dangling Snape upside down using magic... and I think his hatred for James is too deep for him to even put the past behind him now, and too deep for him to realize that Harry is not the same person as his dad.

Snape seems like the type who would hold a grudge forever, doesn't he?

Yup! I think that one thing is going to happen to Snape that will change the way he thinks or at least make him think twice about Harry.

I remember thinking when reading the first 2 or 3 books for the first time, "Snape's gotta be good, he keeps saving Harry..." but then since the 5th one I haven't been so sure.. JKR is trying to confuse me

yep- and thats whats not so great about the movies-- errr they keep leaving all the AWESOME NEAT-O COOL parts and sub-plots of the story... I swear if they leave out the pensieve scene in OotP I am gonna be sooo mad.....
Do you know how frustrating it is to have friends who are like, "yea, I've read the first three but then they started making movies so I'll just wait for them"???! it makes me so mad because I can't express to them how much they are missing out :o

This I always figured, but always thought about it more just for the idea of saving Draco. Now, I'm wondering if there is any kind of magic that is older than the rest know that deals with this, sacrificing oneself to keep another pure, and having one you trust do it for you. Could lead to interesting things here.

I think that we are on the same level of thought about this.
