Harry Potter VS. Narnia

To make a long story short, Chronicles of Narnia is about kids who save a world and Harry Potter is about a kid that saves himself and a school of magic. That doesn't mean it's wrong to defend yourself or even your alma mater, but my greater love goes to to the ones that give of themselves for the greater good, and those are Lucy, Edmund, Susan and Peter.

Also, Harry Potter triumphs by looking for some sort of inner strength. The Pevensies triumph by surrendering their willfulness and personal agendas to Aslan who, in turn, empowers them and becomes their inner strength. If I had some sort of super powers, I suppose I could go out there like some sort of Superman and try to whack Lex Luthor with my X-Ray vision and ability to leap tall buildings with a single bound. But to be a frightened teen who has to trust a power he does not understand and walk willingly into almost certain death...I don't know...I just admire ordinary kids who have extraordinary faith over folks with cheat codes to the game of nature. HP is a nice kid, Peter, Edmund, Susan and Lucy are apostles. No comparison.

Let me just say right now that you all have killed me.

Yes, even John.

And, of course, I don't need to tell you what I think is better. You already know.

HP
To me, it seems HP has more....a more complex PLOT than CoN.

I disagree. Harry saved numerous times his friends, not himself. Also, if Voldemort wins his struggle with Potter, world will be doomed. It is clear that Voldemort wants to dominate both wizards and muggles. Voldemort won't stop until there is no one to oppose him.
And Harry is the only one who can save the world from him.

About the question of the topic, I like both books and I wouldn't want to say the one is better, for I enjoy both in different ways. Also Narnia is finished and Harry Potter is not.

I think that Narnia is the better series. Harry Potter is a fad that people of TODAY like. Whereas, Narnia is a series that has endured time and continues to teach valuable lessons and stories to millions of people.

WEEEEEEEEE!!!! That's what I was thinking.

I like them both, and I think it's hard to compare them. It's a very diffrent kind of fantasy. Narnia is more.. "classic" and Harry Potter a bit.. dark and more modern. If I really have to choose.... I will choose for "classic" So That will be Narnia.

I'd have to say NARNIA all the way, no contest for me in any way, shape, or form.

By the way Jack, he didn't make it clear that Susan would never believe again at any point in time. She didn't at that time...but that was part of the point of what was left regarding Susan...Hope!!!

I never thought about it that way. That's really interesting.

Don't get me wrong, Harry Potter is AWSOME. I'm a huge fan.. HOWEVER, I'm more of a fan of NARNIA :D

Harry Potter can get abit.. confusing at times. Maybe it's just me because i'm a dummy, but Narnia is better for family's and easier to understand. It has it's happy moments. There's not alot of happy moments in HP thats for sure! :p

But I do love both. NARNIA IT IS FOR ME!

You're telling me! Just watching the ads for Harry Potter, I got confused, and I was like "What was that about?" I could never get what they were talking about or what the movie was about.

This is really hard for me, but I'd probably have to say Harry Potter. Anticipation for the seventh book is so great for me you have no idea. I'm on hpana.com as well, and it makes me even more excited for upcoming Harry Potter events.

Harry Potter is not suitable for anyone. They use satanic powers, and the author of the books even said it was not meant for children. No christian should be allowed to see HP, although sadly, many do. I'm VERY opposed to Harry Potter and MUST say CON

I don't think this is fair because you posted this thread in a NARNIA site. There's really no contest in this. Mostly, people here would choose Narnia, since it is a narnian site. If you really wanted the opinion of others, EQUALLY, then I suggest you got to NEITHER a narnia or harry potter site. So you can get an equality in the votes or one is more or the other. It's really really unfair. Just like "Harry or Peter"?

And people keep on saying it's satanic, why don't they just mind their own business? If you've got nothing good to say, don't say anything at all." Unless you got some food in your mouth or the world in near destruction or something. But if it's an insult, or even teasing, keep your mouth shut. It's truly far from satanic. If it was, why would they publish it in the first place? I'm a catholic and I really see nothing bad about it whatsoever. People these days... You'd think once they see a twig they might say it's satanic coz it looks like a wand.

I can't say I like narnia or I hate it. The books were pretty good, but I didn't like the movie. Not one single bit. The harry potter books were REALLY REALLY good. The movies weren't that bad, everything has it's flaws nonetheless.

I'd still vote for Harry Potter more than anything else! Sorry narnia, but harry potter got me! :p
