Haters

Some people just dislike fantasy in general.I'm the only person in my family who likes fantasy.
So,that may be one reason people dislike Narnia, and view it as "children's stories".

humm ... I'm sorry but I can understand why people didn't like PC, but LWW !!!!I can't understand, at all !!!

^Yeah,me too.I loved PC (not as much as LWW though),but I can see why some people would not.:)

ok allthose are your opinions, so please precise it when you post because some people may feel ofended when you say "fake" and some words like this thank you :)

Offended because I don't like a movie they like? I've met haters of stuff I like, and they don't offend me. I'll argue with them for the sake of arguing, but I don't get "offended"

It's all a matter of taste. but to me people should remain respectful of the opinion of other people and to remain well-mannered. For example, I am bored by the Two Towers, but I would rather not bash the movie, because obviously it entertains many people, so it seems that the problem is with me.

Well, it's probably not a good idea to diss the Narnia movies in a Narnia forum. =P Everyone is entitled to their own opinion of any movie or book, right? And if you're bothered by words like "fake" I hope you don't read YouTube comments, there are much worse ones to be used. *twitch* but you aren't going to make them like the movie because you do, or be more polite because you are.

Most of that was a bit of an exaggeration, I hope I didn't misunderstand something or offend anyone. =[

Nah, you were right on, on all counts, Jane.

This is a Narnia forum, so you talk trash about the movies here you gotta expect people to react. And at the same time, for most people a movie is a movie and not an obsession (like Narnia is for some of us here) so we have to expect that some people aren't going to like it. No reason to get excited, either way. Thanks for everyone remaining civil here.
:)

And our dearest Inky has spoken :D;)

When you read the comments on youtube you'll see many people are having no respect at all for anybody. You should read some of the comments they are giving on my favorite hockeyplayer  The best thing is to ignore it. People have different opinions and some are very rude and some are a bit more polite.
I do agree you have to be careful about what you say when you are joining a site dedicated to a movie or books you don't like but I personally think SI wasn't that rude or mean at all. She just stated her opinion and didn't offend anybody.

Just don't go in discussion with the so called " haters" because they are not going to change. As long as you like the movie or books yourself and others do as well you shouldn't bother yourself about it.

But SpanishInquisition and others didn't say anything I would not say about movies I don't like. What he/she said was not offensive at all. Some people here are a little touchy and overly sensitive.

You all know how much I love LWW that I watched it like 500 times, and I could not care less for many parts of PC. I think PC was not even half of what LWW was. Especially how they made my favorite characters act like jerks.

If someone says that LWW or even one of my other favorite movies was lame, fake, dull, bad acting, boring etc. then yea, those are fair comments. Not insulting at all. I think the same about some movies out there that may be your favorites.

I stopped watching PC at the 4th time because the more I watched it the worse it looked.

So as long as they are not insulting me personally, I am willing to let them voice their opinions, even if I don't like those opinions.

If I start pouting just because other people didn't like what I liked and say it, well, that's very imature, jeez!

"I'm a hater. I think the script is lame and the acting is horrible. And it IS subpar to the LOTR movies."

Spanish, being a disliker and a hater are two different beings. I would put you int eh disliker category because you can give reasons for not liking the film. I am fine if someone can articulate reasons for not liking a certain film. I disliked PC and gave lengthy reasons for not liking it.

Haters, however, are in a whole other world. They post mean things just to incite others. I call those people trolls. I can't remember if it was on PC or LWW IMDB message board that someone posted a topic entitled Could the kids have been any uglier or something to that effect. That was just cruel and hateful.

yeah I think dislikers have their opinion, it's NORMAl, but haters usually don't hav any reasons, I say sometimes, amd they only see the negative things, but they should knoz there's always some positive ones !!!

If I hated VotDT, when it came out, would that make me a hater?

If I disliked it, would i be a disliker?

Or is the difference between "Hater" and "Disliker" not whether you hate or dislike a book/movie/political candidate/&c.?

I think you're a hater if you just post mean opinions about how ugly the actors are or how stupid the story is for no other reason than to upset people who like the movie.

If, on the other hand, you have a legitimate reason for disliking the movie and you can state it in a rational way, then you are not a hater.

Jane, there were a lot of PC dislikers here. We articulated our reasons and discussed it at length. Threre wasnt anyone here who just said, "It was stupid and a piece of trash." and then left thir review at that. That is a hater, or a troll if you like, because the post really does not move the conversation in any positive way and it just baiting others to respond.

That is the difference betweem haters and dislikers (although I came up with the terms, I really don't like them--I prefer trolls to haters and critics to dislikers). How the person can discuss the film is the telling aspect.
