Dayton caught her arm and placed his hand over her eyes. "How bad is..." he trailed off, concentrating. He felt a pain at the base of his skull like a knife in the eye, then it built slowly. Dayton gritted his teeth and squeezed his eyes shut. Slowly, he could feel the pain leave Mike, but it was too much. He put his hands on his knees and gasped for breath. "Halfway done." He managed to tell Mike. "Just a bit more." He couldn't feel the pain anymore, but he knew he would feel it again, once he touched her forehead.

"No." Dayton replied truthfully. He told himself mentally; 'but I will be.' He reached up and put his hand over Mike's eyes, to take the pain completely away. He wasn't just taking pain away, he was also healing her from whatever ailment it had been. He tried to distance himself from the situation. 'Think about Mom... think about taking her pain away completely.' At last, he was done.
"Is there anyone else hurt?" He asked, when Mike was completely healed.

" No, I'm fine thank you," she told him, taking his hand " Look at me Dayton do you get like this when you heal people?," she asked.

"I take their pain away." Dayton told her, "and heal them." He smiled, "after, I have the greatest feeling that I did the right thing. Every time, I know I did the right thing."

" Oh, but I felt your face and you where in pain," she told him, taking his hand and place it on her face " I need to talk to you alone," she told him, closing her eyes.

" Out side of course," she told him, taking his hand again " Let me know if that bothers you," she told him, walking out side of the school.

" Ok hm well I just want to know something that's sound way weird but here it goes," she told him, taking a deep breath " How did you know that you had powers?," she asked, looking down.

Aoife shrugged. "I guess. I'm just ... it's complicated, D, with Oliver, you know that. You were there with us before, going through it all with me ... and now he's like us - I dunno why, it's just too overwhelming. That he's been lying to me all this time, you know? When he would feel really sick a lot before, he told me he had stomach problems. Like he didn't trust me." Like I didn't trust him, she realised. "Oh, God," she muttered, running a hand through her hair. "I deserve him to be a jerk to me! I didn't trust him, Dani, and I ought to have." She felt so miserable now.

"Aoife don't do this to yourself," Dani said, drawing in her friend for a hug. "You were doing so well getting over him! You can't stop now! Besides," she began. "It's not like you would tell him about your grace anyway. It's unlike you to spew out information like that. Don't blame yourself."

"When I was six, my Dad pushed my Mom down the stairs." Dayton averted his gaze. "It was an accident." This was true, Dayton doubted his Dad would have pushed his Mom on purpose if he hadn't been drunk and mad. "When all was clear, I ran to her and healed her. Just like that. It was kind of like...instinct." He held her gaze again. "When did you discover your powers?"

" When I was nine my friend took my arm and then everything went blink I saw something about her that wasn't happen yet," she told him, sitting down now " And I didn't like what I saw," she told him, tears rolled down her eyes " That's when my brother knew something was wrong with me," she told him.

Aoife allowed herself to be hugged, but her response was deadpan. "But I still deserve it, I'm such a filthy hypocrite."

"Aoife, if you don't stop blaming yourself I'll smack you," Dani said, slightly serious. "It's in the past now. You've got to move on. He's got powers, he never told you. You've got powers, you never told him. I don't blame either of you," she told her.
