She pulled her hand away " What's yours?," she asked, looking at the teacher making sure he wasn't listening then went back to Dayton he was cute she thought.
 
"I can heal people...animals...living things." Dayton said quietly, looking at the teacher as well. "I just can't heal myself."
 
"Special whats?" Dani asked, then stopped. "Sorry we're bombarding you with these questions, it's just that I haven't met anyone with gifts," she explained.
 
" Oh, wow that's cool," she told him, with a smile " Hm I was wondering do you mind talking to me after class?," she asked, looking at the clock.
 
"They aren't gifts." Dayton told Dani, "They're...graces I guess. I think everyone has them, but some people's are very strong."

"Yeah, I'll talk to you after class." Dayton told Mike.
 
"Huh," she answered. "Well, my grace, or abnormality as I like to call it, is my immense knowledge. I suck up things like sponges and am able to relay it just as quickly," Dani told him.
 
" Cool met me at my locker all right," she told him, handing him her locker number " Oliver?," she asked throw her thoughts.
 
But Oliver was staring at Aoife, and she was staring right back at him.

The bell rang, and everyone scrambled to their feet as Mr. Davies called out the homework.

Oliver left his sister and the others behind, but Aoife caught up with him just as he left the room. "Oliver -" she began. He only threw her a look.

"Oliver can't we just talk?" She pleaded, but he was being carried away by the throng of students hurrying to their next class. Closing her eyes briefly, Aoife didn't bother waiting for Dani. And instead of heading for the bathroom, she ran outside, tears streaming down her face, to her secret spot in the woods, the spot where she could be alone.

The place she used to go with Oliver when they just wanted to talk. Only he knew about the place.

She ran quickly, knowing no one was following her, and reached the shade of the woods.
 
Dayton gathered his stuff and stared after Oliver and Aoife. Something had happened between them, he was sure. He wondered if he could get close to either of them to take their pain away, but he wasn't well-versed in emotional pain quite yet.
 
Dani looked after Aoife, who looked upset. She ran outside before Dani could do anything. Dani sighed softly, knowing that she should probably give Aoife a quick break before looking for her. She sighed again, and gathered her books to head to the next class.

IC: Dayton walked the halls, getting a drink from a terrible tasting water fountain, re-checking the locker number, and finding himself almost running into Mike.

"Hey." He said, moving aside for a stream of highschoolers to pass.
 
Oliver sighed and ran a head through his hair. He couldn't believe it! Aoife had a power? No one had said it outright - but it had been implied. And how could Mike've just thrown caution to the wind and told the new kid about their powers?

But Aoife...
 
Since they had a little time before class started, Dani went to go put her books back. On her way to her locker she found Mike talking to Dayton. I wonder how his powers work, she thought, curiously, and decided to walk up. "Are you guys talking about- well, you know," she asked.
 
"Oh you aren't?" she asked, a little embarrassed. "Sorry, it's just- well, I've never met anyone but-" she stopped before she gave away Aoife's. She didn't know if she wanted to go public with hers yet. "I don't know that many people with graces."
 
"It's okay." Dayton wasn't sure if he was talking to Dani or Mike. "Honestly, I haven't met anyone besides myself with...graces."
