(ooc: i gtg but i'll be back in about an hour! )

While Suri was walking looking at her schedule didn't noticed what way she was going she accidentaly bumpted with Callie... "I'm so sorry" said Suri

"Oh wow! That's so cool! I've lived here for my whole life. I was just homeschooled, so this is my first day of public high school too," she answered.

She laughed. "A little, but enough. Surprisingly I wasn't that nervous. I was more excited," she told Suri.

ooc: I have to go for a little now, but I should be back on a little later. :)

This happens a bit before the most recent posts....

Alipang had ended up walking to school alone; the on-and-off threat of rain had scared everyone else into cars or buses. But Alipang had been homeless in the monsoon season; weather could not easly intimidate him. Arriving very early as he planned, he made a tour of the grounds, as if he were a cop.

And a cop was needed at one spot.

A very large African-American boy was leaning menacingly over a much smaller African-American boy, obviously demanding his money. Alipang waited, hanging back inconspicuously...he needed to be able to say he had SEEN....

There! The money changing hands, like a drug deal, except that the little boy was buying survival instead of powdered insanity. That was the shot Alipang wanted--and got, with his picture-taking cellphone. "Hey, big ugly guy!" he now shouted. "You should have smiled, because I just took your picture! Now, you've got two choices: you give the boy's money back NOW, or your picture becomes REAL famous!"

Spewing filthy curses, the big boy lunged at Alipang with a knife. Pitiful amateur, thought the Filipino; you don't hold the knife out front, it's too vulnerable to a disarm--! Four seconds later, the knife was on the ground, and its owner was wailing in pain, grasping the arm which had been struck and almost broken. "So use the other hand to give back the money," snarled Alipang, then scooped up the dropped knife. "Oooh, look what I found on the ground here. I wonder whose it is? I'd better turn it in at the office; and its owner better keep away from me, AND keep away from my friend here. NOT so fast, you're NOT leaving with his money....That's better."

Once the cowardly bully had surrendered the money and fled, Alipang turned to the victim he had rescued, extending his hand. "I'm Alipang Havens, I'm new here."

"You may be new," said the other boy, grasping the offered hand, "but I sure hope you stay! I'm Sammy Ashford. That ___________________ you put down calls himself Leopard Man. We got no real gang trouble here, but he wishes he could start some. I'll show you to the office, and you can hand in that LOST knife you found...."

Homeschooled or Public schooled: Public schooled
Bio: Originally went to a Parochial Catholic elementary school and high school, and recently transfered to Smoky Water East because taxes were killer. Two older brothers, one is an artist in New York City, the other is 1stLt. in the Marine Corps, currently deployed overseas in Iraq. Brendan has followed in his eldest brothers footsteps, pursuing the military as a career..

Personality: Brendan is a very astute individual. He loves to goof off with his friends, but knows when it's time to be serious. Very polite, and hardly ever rude to anyone, lest they deserve it.

OOC: I'm really at a loss how I should enter but here goes..

Brendan sat in the shotgun side of the car, looking at the window, recounting the days experiences in his mind. His mom looked over "I don't know why we had to go see the school. You're brother only went there. You already know the school inside and out". Brendan just shook his head and said, "I just love it though. VMI is just the epitamy of where I want to go. Military, but no obligation. Leaves me choices". His mom just sighed. Her thoughts strayed to her oldest, serving his country..

* Note female principal now created

Freda Lewiston, principal of Smoky Hill East, was present when Alipang and the freshman Sammy arrived to report "finding" the knife. Both did well at looking innocent; they were helped in this by the fact that Mrs. Lewiston knew Sammy from her own neighborhood, and Alipang from eating at the Pansit Paradise, so that she knew neither boy was a troublemaker.

"How's your twin sister doing, Al?" the principal asked. Chilena was called this by many, since she lived with the Havens and was the same age as Alipang, and they were well known NOT to be attached to each other in any way but like being brother and sister.

"She rode the bus, ma'am, and I walked," replied Alipang. "But if I know Chilena, she's telling everyone she hates homeschooling. But I have to tell you, ma'am, that I loved every day of it. Of course, it helps that I love my parents, and both of them are good at explaining things."

Before long, armed with late passes, Alipang and Sammy were on their way to their first classes, promising each other to meet at lunch.

"Well in the school from where I came your teacher arrived to the rooms not like here, you have to arrive to the rooms, you have the same classmates all year and you don't have a time between classes to go to the locker, you have to do it on what we call recess" Suri replied
