The teacher looked at her with his arms corss " Miss. Heavens is everything all right?," he asked.

Chilena looked up at him with red eyes from crying " I-I'm not sure Mr. Hankens," she told him.

(Here's how you specify)

The African-American freshman Sammy Ashford, whom Chilena knew as her brother's friend who had come to Alipang's support in the nonviolent confrontation with Leopard Man, then found the boldness to help Summer physically against the same now-expelled bully, appeared in her path. "Chilena! I'm sorry your brother got hurt! My Dad was too busy to take me to see him at the hospital, or I would have gone." The boy lowered his eyes. "I know Alipang thought I was in danger and wanted to protect me. Your brother is one in a zillion. How is he? How are YOU?"

The teacher told her she could go home for the day because everything going on.

Chilena looked up at him " He fine Sam," she told him, walking to her locker to get her things.

Sammy followed Chilena. "Is there anything we can do for you? 'We' means my whole family; my Dad hasn't forgotten everything Alipang's done for me, he just has so much he has to do all the time--but he and Ma ARE grateful."

NOTE: We are almost to the point where we shift operations to Thread Number Three, which ALREADY EXISTS and awaits our migration.

At the Havens residence, Melody and Harmony were being watched by a trusted neighbor lady, Mrs. Capshaw, whose husband was the town's one certified plumber. She had more than once asked Alipang if he might like to be apprenticed in plumbing, but he was bent on following his father into dentistry. Dr. Havens was at his practice now; since Alipang was out of danger, he had an obligation to his patients.

Chilena was now at home " If anyone needs my I'll be up stairs," she told her sisters or Mrs. Capshaw

Mrs. Capshaw had formerly been one of the few female stage magicians performing in nightclubs on the East Coast; but she didn't miss it. Small town life had its own excitement.

Chilena came down stairs now " Mel Sweetie do you know were Chil-Chil's dairy is?," she asked, with her arms crossed.

"Don't suspect her," said Mrs. Capshaw mildly. "I put it on top of the knicknack shelf in your Dad's study to keep it out of the way." She added jokingly, "I was fascinated to read about how you captured thirty Venezuelan drug smugglers singlehandedly with your Jedi powers."

Meanwhile....Cecilia Havens was happily driving her son home.

She looked at her oddly " Huh what now?," she asked, shaking her head " Ok well I hope none of you read it," she told her sisters, walking into her dad's office to get her dairy " Ahh I had it!," she said to herself.

Kim Tisdale had had a successful first evening on the job Thursday, and had been given plenty of food to take home to her family. She returned to work on Friday afternoon....as indicated by Dayhawk herself, previously. And so Kim Tisdale fades into the background.
