Meanwhile, at the hospital, the word was given: with precautions, Alipang could go home, and also with precautions and exemption from Phys-Ed, he could resume school after Labor Day.
He wanted to tell Chilena, but she was entitled now to turn her attention to Dan. He wanted to tell Kim, but he had no stomach for being told again that he was a dumb kid.
That was all right. Melody and Harmony deserved some attention. He would celebrate by watching VeggieTales movies with his _little_ sisters, doing as they liked him to do: turning down the volume and acting the character voices himself.

"He didn't really finish his text, but his mom told me that his father's over there and that he has some sort of a doctor's appointment," Jen shrugged. "His father' can get really strict.... he doesn't like strangers. Beware." she laughed.

"I don't mind that at all." He smiled at her. "Chilena's just really stressed out right now. With both her brother and dan being temporarily gone, she's not able to relax. Things'll be better than both are back. Don't worry."
