Dan's father, not knowing that this was Dan's girlfriend, looked at her suspiciously. "I'm not sure if he's asleep or not.... let me go get him."

He let Chilena in and then went into Dan's room. Seeing that his son looked exhausted and was sleeping peacefully, he returned into the living room with a sigh. "He really needs his rest. I can give him whatever he needs. By the way, I'm his father." he said, awkwardly offering a hand.

"Hmm," Dan's father said thoughtfully. His phone buzzed in his pocket. "Excuse me for a second.... hello? Yes, two o' clock... PM.... yeah, that would be right. Dr. Mann? Thank you, sir, have a good day." he hung up and then turned back to Chilena. "What did you have to give to him?"
 
Meanwhile, the selection of juvenile criminals netted Thursday afternoon was proving highly interesting to Police Chief Costamesa, to his counterpart in Shilohsville, and to the county sheriff. Questioning them revealed plenty of information which could lead to convictions for legally-adult members of Shilohsville's modest-sized but foul underworld.

A sheriff's-department investigator said at one point to Tomas Costamesa, "We've been impeded by the usual thing: everyone either terrified of the punks, or pampering them and refusing to believe they were evil. But sometimes it can make a big difference if even a few people will stand up to them. Like a landslide starting with one rock."

Costamesa nodded. "Yeah. Some of those goons were so used to getting their way, that when they were finally challenged, it made them go crazy--so they overreached themselves, and here they are in the slammer. I can tell you who stood up to them, too. A boy named Alipang was the first rock; two other boys named Sammy and Brendan, and a girl named Summer, got in on the act as well, NOT letting themselves be pushed around...."

A district attorney was called in to study the initial information gained from the young hoodlums, and she expressed a guarded optimism that this was going to set back the progress of street-gang growth in the county by a decade.

His father nodded. "I'm sure he'll want to see you later. Maybe tomorrow, when the doctor gives us a diagnosis. I would hate to have to be the reason why his girlfriend gets sick."
 
She laughed " All right ah, Dan's dad," she told him, walking out of the house still texting Ahhh I need to talk to you in person! * sigh oh, I brought you so something to eat XOXO

His father just laughed and said bye to Chilena, closing the door as she left.

Jen was all ready, and on her bus with her iPod.
 
In both towns, and in other parts of the county, some bad people began having their doors forced in by armed men with lawful warrants..and the growing threat of widespread violence in the county, which had worried so many, began to shrivel up and diminish. Not that there would be NO crime now; there was always the Mara Salvatrucha gang, which had been hiding behind political correctness all along the Atlantic Seaboard. But now at least the local criminal element was being forced onto the defensive.
 
When Chilena came to school one of the guys she once knew put his arm around her " Hey Chil," he told her, with a smile.

" WHat do you want Dillon?," she asked, trying to take his arms off of her.
 
"Indeed, what DO you want?" asked the menacing figure of ex-SEAL Wilson Kramer, suddenly appearing right behind the obnoxious boy. The boy shrank away from him in a hurry, mumbling something incoherent and then fleeing.
 
Jen got to the school and walked towards her locker. She noticed Chilena and some guy standing there. Was she cheating on Dan? "Um, hi, Chilena...." Jen said awkwardly, looking at the two of them with shocked eyes. But when Mr. Kramer came along, she resumed entering in her combination
 
" Thank you sir, but I think you need to watch close eye on him," she told him, walking to her locker when she notes Jen " Oh, hi Jen," she told her, with a smile.
