How did you discover Narnia?

My mom ot LWW and PC. I though they sounded really boring, but I had nothing new to read, o I had at it. I loved those 2 so much that my dad got me the whole series.

Lets see...after leaving my incubator in the hospital I came home and on the wall of my parent's room was a 20X28.5 inch print of the 1971 Pauline Baynes Map of Narnia. From then on I heard about Narnia. Can't remember a time I didn't know about it. Still have the map...don't know what age mom officially read the books to me...I was pretty small though. I'd heard the basic story well before that time though because I wouldn't shut up with all the questions about the pictures all over the map. I think I drove my mom nuts back then. Now I think that she thinks I'm nuts as far as Narnia fandom goes...she's still a big fan...but expresses it differently. :D

Well, believe it or not, my parents deprived me of Narnia from day one. My mom probably mentioned it once or twice, but I didn't think I would like it, so I just kinda gave up and read Nancy Drew and Harry Potter. I read all the books just a year ago, so I kinda got into it on my own. When the movie came out, that made me want to read them because I wanted to see the movie, and I knew if I saw the movie without reading the book, then I would never read the book. It was like magic! I'm not kidding. But I didn't just read it so I could know the story and stare at William Moseley for the rest of my life. I really got into it and I read the books over and over again and haven't seen the movie in forever, so...

I saw the cartoon back in 1980 or 1981, and that was the first time I heard about LWW. I had no clue it was about Narnia. When they were making a movie it was the first time I heard about it and I have bought the books and read them all in one week ;)

I was kind of brought up on them. My mother used to read them to my siblings and myself when we were little and I also watched the cartoons and BBC versions only after I had heard the books :D .

I've loved them for as long as I can remember... I remember my mom ordering it from a book orders catalogue in Kindergarten just to have and me picking it up... Then after we moved we lost them, so I got a new one in 3rd grade. I fell in love at once. :D

When I was 3 or 4, my Dad(who was one of the best people who knew great literature and entertainment when he saw it and knew its importance) started reading the books to me aloud. I watched the BBC version as a kid too. So, pretty much, I have grown up with Narnia all my life, and every now and then(despite their rather easy reading level for someone at my reading level), I read the series.

BBC since I can remember, I first read LWW in the fifth grade, I continued on with PC and possibly VotDT (I don't remember) during the fifth grade and in the summer afterwards but I was never keen on the SC movie so I did not read SC or any of the others until 2005 when the Disney movie came out. I will say this though, until the end of the sixth grade I wasn't a very big reader and even then I was more into reading the Dear America diaries than reading fantasy books.

I saw the first movie, and the second last summer, my cousin told me the books were great, so I started readig them :p

I was in forth grade and I had sleeping problems casued by chest pains due to being put on antidepresents for what we thought at the time was ADD, but turned out in affect to be Asperger's Autism.

My mom took me off the medication and in order to help me sleep she started reading to me from the Chronicles of Narnia. She had ordered the books from aschool book order and they turned out to be the most important books she'd ever order as they were the ones that as Jack said in regards to George McDonalds Phantases "led to the baptisim of my imagination."

The books shaped my mind and my spiritual life tremendously. They are among the books I consider being impactful in my wanting to be a writer.

I was in 3rd grade & was looking through our school's library when a book caught my eye. It was The Magician's Nephew I liked the look of the cover so I picked it up and started to read. Seven days later I had finished the entire series. :D

The Narnia books are, and forever will be, my favorite series ever. And they sparked my avid love of reading which has continued to this day.

In late 2006, I was visiting family. My cousin has a large collection of movies. One night when nothing else much was on, we decided to watch LWW. That got me really interested in the series and I decidedd a few months later to get the series (the box set that came out after the movie).

My parents read LWW, PC, VoDT and HHB to me when I was about 7. The Silver Chair, however, was (in their opinion) too scary for me, so I read that on my own, along with the rest of the series, when I was about 9. I've been re-reading them every year or so ever since.
