Introduction Thread II

We are all random! Never hestitate to join us in our randomness. We have a lot of scandinavian people. Cathyrh and Doffen are from Norway and we have another Anna who is from Iceland :D

My name is Anna, I'm 23 (going on 24) years old and I'm from Sweden. I've been a huge fan of Narnia ever since I saw the BBC adaptations on TV back in 1989. I still prefer the books and the BBC adaptations over the new film(s) but I like the new film nonetheless!

Neimen va! Har vi fätt en svenska inn här? (Note to self. Sweeds always type å differently, replacing it with ä).

I was raised on Scandinavian Folklore and Folktales so I've had a love of (and believed in) trolls, elves, giants and wights all my life. I'm a HUGE Lord of the Rings fan. I love all things Fantasy actually.

I'm a HUGE fan of the Scandinavian folklore aswell. Nothing more exciting then good ol' scandinavian lore! (Did ya know Tolkien based alot of his locations, creatures so on on the scandinavian lore?)

I'm a huge Metal-head and have a great passion for Power/Symphonic/Folk/Pagan/Viking Metal music. I also love Celtic, Folk, Renaissance, World and New Age music. Movie Scores as well. Actually, I love music in general! I sing, play instruments and compose music as well :)

I think we both share something in common then ;) ... I've listened to metal for years. Viking metal would mean Death metal, I presume? Like Amon Amarth (That's why I love sweeds. Really do). Power is also a huge favorite, like Iced Earth (Matt Barlow is heading back to Iced Earth soon =O)

If ya wanna talk more about music or whatsoever, be sure to PM me.

Nämän, en norrbagge! :D Så trevligt! We have the letter 'å' as well, haha. We actually say 'fått' and not 'fätt', hehe

Awesome with another fellow lover of the lore! And yes I know all about Tolkien's influences of Scandinavian Folklore and Norse Mythology. That's probably why I fell in love with Lord of the Rings so easily, because it reminded me so much of everything I held dear :D

Viking Metal is really any Metal that features Viking or Norse Mythology centered lyrics, but yeah tends to lean on Death Metal a lot. Amon Amarth is AWESOME!

Would love to :D

Yeah I know you guys might use "å" occasionaly. But best to not take any chances. It doesn't happen often! ;)

I'm very much into Norse mythology. Since we're not studdying that subject at school, I often did read books about it when I was younger. I also love the more younger stuff, from after Christianity came. About "huldra" and stuff like that.

The sweds are definatly the kings of death metal. My only problem with people calling stuff for viking metal is when they deny that f.example Finntroll or Amon Amarth is death metal. Opeth, In Flames and such also rocks. Norway still beats ya though ;)

Greetings fellow Narnians :)

Other hobbies and interests of mine are Photography, Graphics, Movies, Reading, Writing, Drawing and Traveling. I LOVE traveling. It's so awesome to see new places and experience new cultures. I've been to 14 countries so far (including Sweden) and I'll hopefully go somewhere abroad again this year.

I think that's about it. It's great to meet you all

Hello, Anna who is a pagan from Sweden who loves Narnia. :p If I went anyfurther it would have a ton of clauses....and I'm too lazy to go on in that much detail. :p

Hehe yeah I do know that we use 'Ä' for many words where you use 'Å'

You don't get to study Norse Mythology in school? We did! Religion class in 4th grade was all dedicated to Norse Mythology. I totally loved it. And yeah I love everything about 'huldra', 'näcken' and 'vättar' and stuff!

I wouldn't exactly call Finntroll Death Metal so much as I'd call them Folk Metal. But yeah Viking Metal isn't really a musical genre as some people like to think so I totally agree with you there!
